Bottle from Landbierparadies, Nurnberg 10/11/07. Reddish-amber with a big off-white head and slight carbonation. Caramel malt aroma. Flavour of dough with a dusting of chocolate, and some cinnamon with a short dry finish. Good.

Bottle at London Drinker BF 07. Malty, bit of sickly vomit. Some cereal, bit vomitty, bit cereally and odd. In fact I think I left my tastebuds at home for this festival.

(bottle) Clear, amber colour with a fluffy, off-white foamy head. A bit dusty, moderately sweet, minimal sour and roast-malty aroma with caramel and spicy hops in the background. Light-sweet flavour, medium bodied with a well-carbonated mouthfeel. Moderately roasted malty taste with caramel and milk chocolate; dry-ish, malty slightly bitter finish with a delicate blend of herbal hops and a rural barnyard note. Not that much different to the Vollbier, but a bit stronger and eventually a bit more roasty; very pleasant and quaffable, although I prefer the Vollbier which is better balanced from my point of view.

(bottle) Clear, amber colour with a big foamy off-white head. Sweet and slightly roasted malt aroma, bready with caramel some spicy, herbal elements, a light sourish note and a good dose of barnyard smell. Moderately sweet flavour, medium to light bodied with a soft carbonation. Dark malty, slightly roasted tasted with caramel and again that barnyard-character; moderately dry, malty and slightly bitter finish. Pleasantly balanced rural taste. A goodie. Many thanks for this one and all the others from Franconia to Wastl !

A dark amber beer with a nice orange head. The aroma is sweet flowery and hoppy, while the flavor is sweet malty with notes of caramel as well as a light touch of ryebread, leading to a very bitter end.

Clear chestnut; just off-white head, leaving some lace. Bready, nutty nose, sweet and dry at the same time; rainwater and vague pine aroma’s. Faint, but very inviting & subtle nose. Sweetish, but nowhere cloying, bready taste; tohd "Braun" bread and white. Faint distinction of moss or lichen-covered old wood. Light, but very appropriate for this kind of beer. Very pleasing Vollbier, obviously "eating and drinking" at the same time.

Bottle (bought at the Landbierparadies): Amber coloured, quite stable fluffy off-white head; malt and aromatic hops in the nose; slightly sweet, moderate bitter flavour; nutty, caramelly finish with a moderate bitterness coming late. Well made Franconian Dunkel, pleasant and tasty.............
