Nice hoppy, citrusy nose, and nothing much else. Standard mouth feel and carb. Basically a session ipa, nothing really makes me think it’s a lager. Nice easy drinking, a beer for the masses getting into craft beer.

Can from the brew house retail store. Listed as a 3.9% Belgian table beer. Bright, lemony, upfront pale grains with some light yeast. Very crisp, and clean and refreshing. A perfect pairing for pretty much any food.

Bomber from the Amsterdam retail shop. Opaque black pour, large beige head. Big dark soy Aroma, sweet roast, cocoa and coffee with some light licorice. Silky mouth feel, light carb. Round robust malts, medium bitterness. Solid roasty finish, and light pine. Nice stuff.

Can from the lcbo. Very pale yellow pour, with barely any head. Aroma is very pale malts, very light cereals and the faintest hint of hops. Watery mouth feel, decent carb. Finish is dry and mealy, with again the faintest of hop flavours. This is not a pils but something that is made to compete with coors light and bud light. Should be in the pale lager category.

Bottle from the lcbo. Hazy, Cloudy straw colored pour, with a big white head. Aroma is funky, wet hay, good amount of malted wheat, and some grassy, slightly citrusy hop note. Great lively carb, effervescent mouth feel. Finish is tart and funky, with big grass and hay notes. Light barnyard flavours, slightly peppery, and a medium bitterness. Really good saison.

Growler from the brewery. Clear golden pour, big frothy white head. Crisp aroma of lemon zest and green leafy hops, and clean cereals. Soft to medium carb, and bright mouth feel. The finish is incredibly sharp and clean with alot of citrus zest and green hop leaves. Tart and and refreshing with some slight funk. Very nice saison.

Cask days 2014.
Lots of green hops, like fresh hop cones, some pine, light citrus, and some slightly funky grass. Light yeasty notes, light bitterness, slightly tart, funky finish.

Cask days 2014.
Jet black, no head, thick syrupy, oily body and mouth feel. Sticks to the side of the glass, and temporary stains the sides of the glass brown. Wow. Intense burnt, roasted, espresso, with some woody vanilla, and upfront alcohol. The chilled are there in the finish as they warm my throat. Intense bitterness, with a boat load of dark, burnt roasted malts, cocoa powder, and lots of dark fruit. Some light pine resin hops, with more vanilla, and light wood. Very complex, and beautiful stout. One of the best of the fest.

Bottle from the lcbo. Alcohol is 5.9%, and description says it was aged in Chardonnay barrels, but there is no mention of Brett.... But it also says it’s a collaborative with great Lakes. So I’m hoping this is the right entry. Hazy golden pour, medium white head. Aroma is briney, and savory. Some hints of lemon and malted wheat, with some light herbs. Mouth feel is nice, and the carb is good. Finish is slightly tart, with a savory, herbal finish. Hints of wood, and light vinous notes.

A good pale ale.... Maybe a tad too high in alcohol to be a session ale, but it’s still quite good. Lots of citrus notes, and no malts. Just straight forward hops, citrus, and slight pine. Super clean, drinks very easily but feels a touch thin, with a medium bitterness.
