Bottle 330ml.Unclear matt medium orange colour with a large to huge, frothy, good lacing, mostly to fully lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, moderate hoppy, orange - citrus, fruity, moderate to heavy yeasty, leather. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a average to long duration, fruity, yeasty. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20120617]

Pouring means a glass of brown-tan foam, and after much patience, near-black beer with ruby-brown reflections. Oatmeal immediately evident in the nose; further much roasted/burnt grains and malts, chocolate & liquorice. Nose hampered by the resistant mass of foam. Quite bitter and very roasted/burnt flavours. Burnt chocolate, dry coffeebeans, oatmeal seems again rather obvious. Fine acidic stoutlining, scorched caramel. Bone dry, quite slick, but only medium bodied. Long burnt/ing aftertaste. Good, indeed drinkable stout, but it could benefit from some more complexity, misses depth.

Good, rather stable yellow head over coldhazed orange to amber-copper beer. Fruity, USA hopsnose, tad of liquorice, rest is exotic, if sweet fruit, sweet-bitter citrus. Bitterish to bitter, resiny flavour; some pine and sweet fruit in the background; lychee, rosewater. Fainly mineral. Medium bodied, slick, long-lasting flavours. Good, if rather unspectacular IPA.

Apparently made in real gypsy style with the new brewer just using De Molen installation and no input from Menno // 33 cl. bottle sampled @ GBF 2012 // hazy bright orange with a white head // american hop goodness is in the nose, lots of sweet marmalade, pine, quite fruity actually, orange peel, with some caramel but not overt // taste is bitter marmalade, orange peel, creamy american hops, fruity, peaches, reasonably biter, smooth, hint caramel and sweet bread, dash grass in the back almost // so creamy and smooth // great stuff, digging this new guy

Apparently made in real gypsy style with the new brewer just using De Molen installation and no input from Menno // 33 cl. bottle sampled @ GBF 2012 // dark brown with a tanned head // smell is deliciously sweet, thick malts, chocolate plain and milk, light roast, cocoa, vanilla and some fruits // taste is sweeter side, yummy and surprisingly fruity, actually getting plenty of raspberries in here plus reasonable amount of sweet berries on top, lots of nuts, creamy oatmeal, milk chocolate, malty, toffee, sweeter coffee & that fruitiness // very creamy body // watch out for the new kid on the block

Aroma: very fruity, lots of red forest fruits, raspberry sorbet, black forest cake, red fruit jam, little chemical. MF: good carbon, medium body. Taste: very fruity start, ripe forest fruits, little sour, dark chocolate, mocha, biscuit (sponge cake). Aftertaste: bitter hops, little fruity, dark chocolate, pretty dry hoppy ending.

Aroma is sourish with some oat and milk chocolate. Palate is way too high on CO2. Flavour is somewhat sour with chocolate, some lactic acid, oat, ash and hints of chocolate. Too sour, feels almost contaminated.

Flavour is slightly sweet with caramel, resin and some exotic fruits. And a vichy‐like feeling due to all that CO2. A very typical De Molen IPA.
