Bottle from Bierkompass.de cons 2012-07-12 Göteborg AR: yeasty, caramel - infected? AP: hazy amber, 3 cm high lively frothy head F: sticky fizziness, yeasty overripe pruns and dadels, orange, heavy bitterness, finish fruity and yeasty - kind of interesteing anyhow (had to compare with the other rathings...)

Black colour with a beige head. Espresso and roasted malt aroma. Lovely well blended ale. Complex and tasty. Rich coffee/espresso. Some chocolate. Roasted malt. Moderate sweetness. Oily texture. It is written on the bottle that is is best enjoyed within 25 years. So I will buy a couple of bottles and save them for my 60 years birthday.

Black color, with brownish creamy head. Aroma of roasted malt, cardboard, some ashes. It has a good body strength, very good flavor of dark chocolate, roasted malts, some coffee, light liquorice; the sweetness is very moderate. The bitterness is correct, and the final also presents rich chocolate.
Very good, balanced, powerful.

Cloudy amber color, with gigantic head (too much carbonation). Beyond the yeast smell, there is some good fruity hop aroma, zesty. There must have been some problem, because the beer is overly carbonated, the flavor is too yeasty, quite spicy too, the bitterness is high.
Crossover between Belgian tradition and American novelty, imprecise result though.
Rough.

33cl bottle from Bierkompass. Bottled 03/2012. Poured hazy orange with a huge, lasting white head, in style with most De Molen beers I have had before. Heavyily hopped aroma, light perfumy, resiny, citrusy. Flavor has tropical fruits, bitter hops, malt and plastic notes. Quite salty finish. Chewy mouthfeel, medium to full body. Solid, fresh IPA with recognizable De Molen touch to it.
