Pours dark brown/ruby with a thick, dark tan head. Scent is chocolate, vanilla, cinnamon... Taste is heavy milk chocolate/cocoa, vanilla cream. Slight cinnamon tingle,...chocolate powder...malty. Very sweet, with a hint of bitter at finish... A dessert, for certain.

Bottle: Poured a deep black color ale with a medium foamy head with average retention and minimal lacing. Aroma of deep caramelized sugar notes with light dried fruit and alcohol ester. Taste is also dominated by caramelized sugar with overly sweet notes and some alcohol warming notes. Body is quite full with motor oil consistency and alcohol is indeed a bit too straightforward. Too sweet with too much alcohol being perceptible. Bottle: Re-rate 2021 : More balanced this time around but still a sipper. Good drink for price point.

22oz bottle (release #8) pours with a nice dark body that supports a thin short lived mocha head. The aroma has big smooth bourbon booze notes that mix with a bourbon sweetened tart rye whiskey note as well as a light degree of sweet dark fruity esters in the background. The taste is similar as the sweet smooth bourbon tugs and pulls on the tart, almost red wine, barrel like rye whiskey notes. Between the big barrel notes I get pleasing yet too brief and mild sweet kettle caramelization and sweet dark fruity esters. This offers up lots and lots of barrel but the play between the sweet smooth bourbon and tart dry rye whiskey works.

Bomber from Capitol Beer in Sacramento, CA. Pours clear dark ruddy amber with a frothy beige head. The aroma of dark fruits is strong. Some dark malt aroma too. Med + body. Flavor is date/fig with some chocolate, and perhaps a bit of anise. The malt is malty. There’s a lot of flavor in this, and tho it’s finishing sweet, there are so many other flavors that there’s a bitter component. The flavors are not common, but they are tasty.

Cloudy amber beer, goods cream coloured head. Palate is softish and a little airy. Mild fine carbonation. Nice soft creamy malt base. Good hops - rich tangerine and orange, mild marmalade. Whisper of aniseed. Finishes soft and creamy with mellow hop bitterness. A mellow and luxuriant IPA - very nice indeed!
