Tap at Dexters. Deep brown-red stained glass body, hints of light shining through the corners. Massive beige head that is in no rush to settle. Sweet raisin-prune aroma, as hint of cocoa. Smooth body, almost watery, not much hop character. Smooth and easy on the palate, quite enjoyable. Kind of like a Dubbel meets the body of an English Mild. Nuttiness, nutmeg. Comes together well, nice beer.

Bottle with label marked as "CA Edition". Pours with a black hued pour and a large and lasting deep brown head. Aromas are malty, biscuity, licorice, vanilla, iodine, chocolate, cotton candy, grainy, rye, dark fruits, plums, deep caramel, treacle. Lightly herbal, low ester, boozy. Summed up: Busy. Flavors are pretty sweet and pretty muddled with big chocolate, roast, coffee, tobacco, dark fruit, kiln coffee, boozy, medium ester, lightly fruity, lightly herbal. Busy and convoluted. A bit silly (especially when you look at the hop schedule on their brew sheet online). While they are at it, why don’t they try to ferment it with 16 different yeast strains? Silly. Huge body, viscous, warming. Medium carbonation with big alcohol. Honestly it is a lot better than I expected (from a beer who’s recipe seems based more around a marketing goal than a taste goal).

Bottle as shown. Pours a dark amber with medium frothy beige head that last diminishes quickly. The aroma is toffee, caramel, and a faint funk. Medium mouthfeel with a dark fruit flavor and chocolate with nice light funk in the finish. Easy to drink, hiding the alcohol well, a very good American strong ale from Hebrew.

A clear reddish amber ale with a thick mocha head, gusher. In mouth, sweet caramel malt with light sulfur notes, catty floral hops, light meaty notes. In mouth, a very malty example with resinous catty hops, white grapeskin, a bit thin but good.
