Pours deep brown into a shaker. Mocha head with medium retention recedes to hug rim. Sweet oatmeal and milk chocolate aromas. Thick upfront with chocolate and oatmeal turning dry and metallic in the abrupt finish.

12 ounce bottle. Pours a totally black hue with a small white head. A nice nose of vanilla and roast. The flavor is very good for the style spot on: roast, chocolate, ash, vanilla, caramel. Very soft. Good.

This beer is a brownish-black color with a medium tan head that recedes steadily to an outer ring. Partial rings of lacing. Aroma of roasted coffee and malt. Medium body with flavors of toasted malt, coffee and chocolate. The finish is semi-sweet chocolate with a mildly bitter coffee aftertaste. Decent overall.

Medium body with flavors of herbal hops, malt and a bit of grapefruit. The finish is moderately bitter with a hoppy aftertaste. Slightly above average overall.

My first beer from Keegan Ales! Dark ruby brown color, small beige head. Light citrusy hoppyness and some toasted notes in the aroma. Medium-bodied. Cold coffee and hayish citrusy hoppyness. Crisp carbination. This kind of toasted coffee flavor doesn’t work to me so well.

On tap. Pours a clear gold with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a grassy note with backing grain and a bit of earthy flora. Flavor starts with grains and has a bit of grass and a hint of flora in the finish.

Keg at Brouwerij Lane, Brooklyn. Pours dark brown with a moderate, beige cream cap. Milk chocolate aroma, light roast, some filter coffee. Medium sweet flavor, big coffee character, cocoa, light roast. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation and a smooth mouthfeel. Sweet finish, good roastiness, coffee, mild lacto sugars, milk chocolate. Nice.
