Pours black with tan head. Nose and taste of chocolate milk, roasted chocolate malts and vanilla coffee. Roastier than your average sweet stout.

Location: Sampled at the NY Brewfest on Governor's Island, 6/19/10
Aroma: The nose is fairly subtle with light malty notes and not much else
Appearance: It pours a creamy looking dark brown color with a light brown head
Flavor: The taste is caramel, coffee, roasted malts, and a little brown sugar
Palate: This beer has a rather creamy feel to it and it finishes a touch on the thin side
Overall Impression: While I was a pretty big fan of the IPA from these guys, I didn't like this offering nearly as much. It just seemed to be a bit on the boring side to me. Nothing too special was going on here, and I'm a little surprised at how high the ratings are for this one. I guess I'm not with the majority on this one...

Location: Sampled at the NY Brewfest on Governor's Island, 6/19/10
Aroma: The nose is quite malty (caramel) with some orange, floral notes, and grapefruit
Appearance: The pour of this one is amber in color with a solid sized off-white head atop it
Flavor: Medium sweet (good amount of malt flavor) and light-medium bitter, fairly balanced stuff
Palate: The body is medium, it has a soft feel and a decent duration of dryness on the mouth
Overall Impression: My first beer from Keegan, and at this point of the brewfest I wasn't expecting to stumble on something this good, so I was pleasantly surprised by this one. Very solid stuff! I enjoyed this one.

This stout poured a deep black colour with a big, bold tan coloured head. Very creamy. To the nose there are scents of roasted malt, cocoa, dough and caramel. The first sip was slightly thin but very flavourful. Tastes of roasted malt and caramel, with a little coffee were the most prodominant. Slight bitter finish with the flavours of coffee and malt lingering.

Tap at BCTC 2010. Pours mostly gold with a modest, white head. Holds a nice, fruity aroma with notes of banana and citrus, as well as some spicy clove. Flavor is sweet with some bready malts and Belgian sugars. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Finishes sweet with more fruit tones and mild dough. Very good, just not as good as the Three Philosophers. (Although they’re not the same style, so the comparison isn’t exactly apt.)

Opaque black body under a dark tan head. The aroma has notes of roast malts, cocoa powder and a touch of vanilla. Roasty and bitter flavor with just a slight sweetness. No dryness. A bit thin.

World Cup Beer tasting at Lazy Boy Saloon Beer #7. This one is a nice amber and is hoppy but not overly so for an IPA. Taste is of a pine forest and brown sugar. slightly watery but nice enough.
