Hopshackle
Microbrewery
in Market Deeping,
Lincolnshire,
England 🏴
Owned by
Bowler’s Brewery
Established in 2006
I have also tried some new ingredients in my beers one of which was a heavily peated whisky malt which came with a warning from the maltster " be careful it's very smoky !" . I added some to my Historic Porter recipe and it worked really well , every pub that had it asked for it again , one pub took 3 casks !
In 2023 Bowler's acquired the brand and recipes for Hopshackle Ales. Hopshackle’s multi-award winning real ales were produced from its brewery in Market Deeping. Upon his retirement, the previous owner wanted a ‘safe pair of hands’ to entrust the ales that had he had developed over the previous 17 years, and we are delighted to continue the Hopshackle legacy.

500ml bottle @ monthly tasting, Chez Sophie, Nov 23. Thanks Simon for this. Expected trad but actually pours a misty yellow with white head, and an encouraging tropical hop aroma. Myriad fruity tropical flavours to taste. Fairly light bodied, lighter malt than standard haze but a pleasant fruity sipper.

Monday 27th November 2023, Monthly gathering in Chez Sophie. 500ml bottle, cheers Simon, not had a Lincolnshire beer for a while, even if I found this a bit strange. White crust on a hazed golden body, citrus front to the nose and taste, becoming sweeter, then dropping back into a kind of semi-tartness.
