Apparently a double mash stanneman blond, with 3% Jim beam bourbon blended in.
Pours a warm amberblonde. Small white head. Scent is bourbon, caramelized malt intensity. Taste is full, sweet, bourbon clearly there, but also some yeaststress, autolysis and loud, sticky phenols. Sweet, bit boozy finish. Soft, fairly thick mouthfeel and low carbo.

You had me at Silent Killer. Anything less than great is going to be a letdown. A pale Belgian with a high abv, bring it on. I have my Buffalo Bayou tulip glass arrayed for this tasting. I see a light yellow-orange body with a slight head of white foam. The smell goes in a different direction. Fruity and grainy with yeast. The taste, well, it is out there. I am reminded a bit of Dogfish Head 120 Minute, one of my favorites ever. Bright yellow fruit, a booziness, a light touch of hops, mango, all with a significant burn. More like a cocktail than anything. Enlightening.

24 February 2019. Wieze Bierfestival - cheers to Meeki, Ama Deke & the lovely Anke! Clear orange with a lasting, thin, foamy, off-white head; some lacing. Strong aroma of canned peach, stewed apple (bordering on calvados but not quite there), apple cake, ripe apricot, dried banana, vanilla, dark honey, white rum, dough, faint plastic. Taste is medium to heavy sugary sweet, lots of peach, apricot, white sugar, vanilla; balanced by a light spicy bitterness with notes of bitter apple peel, grain, pepper, supported by a 'white' bready & honeyish malty base; sourish accent of lemon in the back with some warming tequila-like alcohol coming through already. Dryish, malty finish, lots of ripe fruit again, some 'crude' grain, sugar, and warming, bit wry, alcohol, somewhere between tequila & white rum. Medium body, syrupy texture, soft carbonation. This made me think of the alcoholic, sugary fruitiness of White Pony, or, more nobler, Dolle Brouwers (Dulle Teve, Stille Nacht). It started off promising but the plastic & alcoholic notes make it too crude, whilst I hoped for a thicker body considering the ABV. Guessing it's a Barley Wine technically but who am I to tell.
