Dark red brown colour with lacy head. Aroma and flavour have floral, earthy hip bitterness. Touch of caramel too.

440ml can. Poured a clear reddish amber colour with a big, lasting, frothy off-white head. The aroma is toffee caramel malt, light citrus. The flavour is moderate to light bitter and sweet, with a crisp, earthy, herbal, mineral, light orange citrus palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Nice can but the beer didn’t really match.

[44cl can from Home Bargains, Bracknell.] A hazy straw coloured pour a rim of white head; raspberry aroma; sweet white chocolate taste with a little raspberry tartness; then more sweet chocolate to finish. Strangely pleasant.

8/9/2023. Can from Home Bargains, Martlesham Heath. Pours clear bright orange amber with a small frothy white head. Aroma is overripe, tropical, piney, orange, stone fruits, malt, dank notes. Medium sweetness and moderate bitterness. Medium body, oily and clammy, average carbonation. Improved on initial poor impressions, but wasn’t great.

8/9/2023. Can from Home Bargains, Martlesham Heath. Pours black with a frothy off-white to beige head. Aroma is mild chocolate, lightly roasted, quite plummy, slightly ashy, vanilla, hints of winter spice. Medium sweetness and light roasted bitterness. Moderate body, quite smooth, average to soft carbonation. Quite drinkable and easily the best of the 3 Off Axis Home Bargains beers tried today.

8/9/2023. Can from Home Bargains, Martlesham Heath. Pours clear bright golden with a small short lasting bubbly white head. Aroma is sweet stewed fruits, caramel, pine. Quite sweet taste, moderate bitterness and body. Oily and fizzy. Really basic and not hugely enjoyable pale ale, maybe what you’d expect from a cheap supermarket fake brew co brand I guess.

[44cl can from Home Bargains, Reading.] A hazy pale amber pour with a ring of white head and light carbonation; tropical fruit aroma; medium body and a tropical fruit taste at first, then a strong vanilla taste adding bitterness. Quite odd really.

Can from Home Bargains, Rochdale. Golden coloured standard tasting IPA, but drinkable enough. Light fruit notes.

Can from Home Bargains, Rochdale. Hazy golden with a very small head. Certainly tropical with passionfruit dominant in this one. Slightly sweet for it.

Bottle from Home Bargains, Salford. Pale golden coloured. Has a dry nose but a more sweetened apple is evident amongst this in taste.
