Description
Arthur Van den Bossche founded the brewery in 1897. After his death in 1925, Elenora Callebaut, Arthur's wife and daughter of the Callebaut brewers and chocolatiers family, continued the brewery. In 1935 Willy and Mark Van den Bossche, the 2nd generation, take the helm and further expand the brewery. Ignace son of Mark Van den Bossche, 3rd generation, becomes active in the brewery in 1976. In 2015 Bruno Van den Bossche takes over the brewery from his father. The 4th generation is now taking the lead.

Bottle from a gift. Clear golden colour, white foam. Medium carbonation. Citrussy aroma with hints of caramel and grass. Bitter finish. Ok beer.

25/12/2014 @ home 33cl bottle from Prik en Tik. Dark brown with smalle tanned head. Aroma : burned malts, chocolate, caramel, spices. Taste : very good balance between malts, caramel, spices, light bitter, dry ending.

0,33L bottle (from Wines of Galilee), BB 05.06.16. Pours clear golden with white head. The head stays. Aroma is fresh fruits, citrus, yeast, malt. Flavor is sweet and bitter, fresh fruits, citrus, belgian yeast, spices. Finish is dry bitter. Alcohol is well covered. Overall: very nice brew.

dark brown almost black color. fruity, malty smell, some cinnamon. smells fresh (carbonation). full bodied. body is very malty. malty sweet but also some hop bitterness. subtle light fruit notes, some cherry.

Bottle from Kiya. Nose is choclate, umami, light roast, yeasty fruitiness, Belgian spice. Dark brown with orange, high, fine head. Sweet and roasty, good balance, dark chocoalte, light spice. Rqther light body, but wellbalanced. Stronger one is better for suree, but still decent.
