Dark amber color, small beige head. Nose has prunes, yeast and some alcohol. Flavor is suprisingly one-dimensional: sugary with dark fruits (figs. prunes) and toffee, some wooden sherry cask hints. Thin mouthfeel, alcoholic punch in the finish. Tiny hops in the aftertaste, lingering sweety alcoholic impression. This is not complex beer at all, but not a bad barley wine - nice drink when it is winter outside and you are sitting in the front fireplace.

Sampled @ Pint Meibockfestival. Nice copper/blond colour, white head. Aroma is floral, some yeast, some butter. Taste is sweet, melon, malts, a bit sourish.

Bottle at Carlsens Kvarter Odense. Creamy white good mostly lasting head. Yellow colour. Light malty moderate hoppy aroma. Yeasty notes. Powerfull nice moderate bitter flavor. Average finish. Oily palate. Strange beer.

Tap @ Kafe Belgie. Dark golden colour, dense medium head. Nose has orange hops and coriander. Taste is fruity, with oranges and apples, along with some spices. Not a complex beer, refreshing though.

Bottle. Creamy off-white excellent fully lasting head. Wonderfull dark red-amber colour. Moderate malty heavy hoppy aroma. Very vinius. Light sweet heavy malty flavor. Long exstremely malty finish. Creamy palate. Special beer.

Dark amber color with a decent yellow/beige head. Nice aroma of fresh stone fruit and a little dark fruit. Medium bodied with creamy carbonation. Stone fruit and some unusual spices. Some heat in the throat. Moderately dry with a hint of caramel. The beer mustard is noticeable in the finish. Muenster cheese went really well with this. The impression turns a bit heavy with time.

(3/16/08) Bottle (expensive) at Arendsnest in Amsterdam. Deep amber with a small, quickly-diminishing off-white head. Nice malty aroma with lots of dark fruits and some alcohol. Sweet very malty flavor with with caramel, fruits and alcohol. Medium to full body. OK but too much alcohol presence. Very limited drinkabilty.

Draught @ Stadsbrouwerij De Hemel, Nijmegen, Netherlands. Clear medium to dark amber red color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is light malty, roasted, caramel. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and light light bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium full to medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.
