Description
Between 2011 and 2013, the adventure of the Brasseurs du Grand Paris was written on the 5th floor (no elevator) of a building in Levallois when Fabrice (a Breton who became Levalloisien) and Anthony (an American who became Parisian) met, both passionate about craft beers. Initially the Brasseurs du Grand Paris were nomadic brewers but in September 2016, we left our respective jobs and moved to St Denis to start setting up our brewery there. A 20 HL brewing room, 6 40 HL fermenters, 2 80HL fermenters, and an isobar packaging line to start our Dyonisian adventure. The first beer was brewed in St Denis in February 2017. Thus the Brasseurs du Grand Paris became the Brasserie du Grand Paris.

Can from La Barrique A Cave Bieres, Dieppe and consumed on the beach listening to the sea. Dark with a head. Its schwarzbier styling comes across best in its aroma, as it's a relatively hoppy dark-malty taste. But it's still the latter aspect that's more dominant with chocolate notes apparent.

(Draught at Akkurat, Stockholm, 5 Dec 2024) Hazy orangey golden colour with frothy, off-white head. Fruity, hoppy nose with notes of citrus, herbs, mango and orange. Fruity, hoppy taste with citrus, herbs, tropical fruit, orange candy and a balanced citric/herbal bitterness. Medium body, with a certain sweetness. Fresh and juicy. Very nice.

Bottle from Drankenhandel Leiden. Aroma is smoked pale malt with grain, soft fruity and grassy notes. Flavour is mild sweet and moderate bitter. Body is medium. I had my doubts on pouring this one but it's quite nice, elegant smoke and pilsener malts.
