Description
Our founder Oli Lemke welded his first own brewing plant in a friend’s garage in 1998. Infected by Oli’s euphoria, his friends turned into builders and helped to transform a derelict S-Bahn unit at the Hakescher Markt into a brewery. On the 21st November 1999 his dream became reality: The Brauhaus Lemke opened for the very first time.

8/4/2023. Bottle shared at SBGP2. From LowCostBeer.com. Pours clear pale golden with a large short lasting frothy white head. Aroma is acidic, citrus, lime, sherbet, light herb. Moderate sweetness and sharp bitterness. Lightly tart with a salty edge. Light bodied, watery, average carbonation. Decent base Berliner.

Hazy amber beer with an amberish cream head. Coffee, coffeecream, faint roast, coloured malts, roast chestnuts, coffee dregs. Roast, sweet coffee, coffeesweets. Quite sweet and sticky. Well bodied, good carbonation. Too sweet, too roasted, resulting in a non-classic Bock and neither better. Txs to Joren for bringing!

Bottle from LCB. It pours lightly hazy pale lemon yellow with a handsome fluffy white head which endures. The aroma is musty, damp grain, touch of barnyard, tangy lactic vibes, natural yoghurt, zingy lemon citrus and some damp hay. The taste is crisp, sharp, dry, zingy, tangy, fizzy lemon sherbet, lactic, lemon parfait, natural yoghurt, dull acidity, fizzy cola bottles, earth and damp wood with a dry finish. Average body and moderate to high fizzy carbonation. Nice classic style Berliner. Quenching.

Small white head over orange-golden beer, faintly veiled. Oxydation (well within BBd!), citrus, citruspeel. Very faint hint of chlorine. Bitterish, again very much citruspeel, preserved orange. Oxydation not that outspoken in the flavour, but still present. Tannines, lots of resin. Quite slick to oily. Light alcoholwarming, good carbonation. My opinion: it's not the beer that is oxydated, but the ingredients - more than probably the hops. The beer itself might be better than the result. Txs to Joren for bringing!
