Description
Our founder Oli Lemke welded his first own brewing plant in a friend’s garage in 1998. Infected by Oli’s euphoria, his friends turned into builders and helped to transform a derelict S-Bahn unit at the Hakescher Markt into a brewery. On the 21st November 1999 his dream became reality: The Brauhaus Lemke opened for the very first time.

0.33l bottle from 'Craftbeer-Shop.com', bottled in February 2021. Almost clear, deep ruby with a thin, fluffy, quickly diminishing, pinkish white head. Slightly sweetish, sourish, quite fruity aroma of lemon, sour cherry and raspberry. Minimally sweet, quite sour, fairly fruity taste of lemon, rhubarb, sauerkraut, some cherry and a touch of raspberry, followed by a medium long, quite tart, dry and citric finish. Thin to medium body, quite astringent and gently effervescent mouthfeel, average to lively carbonation. Refreshing but also quite sour, rather lemony than cherry-ish. Alright!

0.33 l bottle from 'Craftbeer-Shop.com' as 'Lemke Waldmeister Weisse' at 4.0% abv, bottled in January 2021. Hazy, amber with a massive, slightly fluffy, quickly diminishing, white head. Sourish-fruity, a little herbal aroma of lemon, rhubarb, woodruff and some hay. Quite sour, fairly dry, gently fruity, slightly herbal-floral taste of lemon, rhubarb, some woodruff, wood and hay, followed by a medium long, fairly tart, dry finish. Thin to medium body, fairly astringent and quite effervescent mouthfeel, lively carbonation. Very refreshing due to the high acidity and fruitiness, not that heavy on the woodruff though. Good!

Draught at Owl Farm: pours light reddish. Aroma is raspberry syrup with light lactic funk. Taste is lightly sweet, somewhat sour, refreshing. I wish more Americans did this.
