Cask at the Brunswick, Derby. Bright amber with a thin white head; somewhat sour aroma; crisp and malty with some stewed fruit flavour; leading to a dry and powerfully bitter finish.

Gravity dispense at the Miners’ Arms Summer Beer Festival, St Werburgh’s Bristol 6/8/07. Deep amber colour with a slight, off-white head. Aroma of red fruit, caramel and grassy hops. Flavour started sweet before a long hoppy finish. very enjoyable.

(Bottle 50 cl) Very dark brown with a vaguely orange hue and a creamy, beige, cappuchinoish head leaving laces. Sweetish, roasted malt notes with some fruitiness. Medium body with sweetish, roasted malt notes and a lightly burned edge. There’s a whiff of salt in there. The finish is dry. A nice effort. 030707

Bottle. Clear amber color with a average frothy good lacing mostly diminishing off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, moderate hoppy, flowers, grass. Flavor is moderate sweet and light to moderate bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

Bottle. Clear dark copper red color with a average frothy good lacing mostly lasitng off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, fruity, Butter, butterscotch, light licorice. Initial flavor is moderate sweet and bitter, finish flavor is light to moderate sweet and moderate bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

RBSG07. From bottle. Pours dark brown. Aroma is sweet malty, sliht roasted. Flavour is dry, slight nutty and roasted malt. Dry finish.

The other Dark Lord. Light ruby color. Aroma has mild malt. Some roasted character, as well as dried fruit. A nice change from American porters. Thanks to Chris_o for sharing.

Amber color. The aroma is a bit soapy. The malt profile is quite simple, but the hopping is better; medium bodied, bold bitterness (but not aggressive, well mixed). Would probably be very interesting if not filtered, i.e. cask coditioned.

Cask at JDW. Golden colour with a small amount of white head that stays. Hoppy smell with a little vanilla in there. Nice hoppy, juicey citric taste with lingering sweetness. Very tasty.
