Cask, Jan Primus. Cask conditioned version of de Molen Engels. Clear amber color, short frothy white head. Aroma of hop, grapefruit, pine, some caramel malt. Very malty and bitter taste, quite fruity as well. Very nice bitter!
Earlier Rating: 6/18/2007 Total Score: 3.2
Clear golden color, short frothy white head. Aroma is flowery and hoppy, some grapefruit, some pine. Quite bitter taste, bit citrus, bit weak and clean, quite dry. Decent bitter, but it lacks some creamyness in the texture. Very watery body.

Hammer! Test vom 10.9.2007, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 12,13,12,12,8,13 - 12,35

Red-brown beer with small yellowish head. Milk, cyanide notes and USA hops. Strange, but very balanced nose, the 3 components equalizing. Smoked taste, coffee and hops (dry). A bit of dry, dark bread. Well bodied, alcohol hidden. Very good stout, belies its impressive ABV completely.

Fully hazy brown beer, with vanishing head. Wood, dark leaves, earthy notes in the nose, and a slight sourish tinge in the end. Wry, eikengal , wood again - as wood that was starting to rot and dried up again. Just a bit roasted. Very dry MF, dry-out effect. Strange, very dry beer; despite the strange eptithets, IMO totally free of infection, which is good for a small Dutch brewery.

(Bottle 33 cl) Courtesy of MiP. Pours a very unclear, greyish golden with a gigantic, white head leaving laces. Fresh, lightly floral aroma. Medium body with lightly sweet malt and a very soft mouthfeel. Floral hops and a rather bitter finish. 230807 and 040610

Courtesy of bierkoning! Dark nut brown color, big creamy brownish head. Dark fruits, roasted barley, caramel and hints of alcohol in the nose. Medium to full bodied. Caramelly, delicious dark malts with salt licorice and raisin notes. Warming alcohol with earthy dry flavors in the finish and aftertaste. Also some hops can be traced. Tasty Dutch doppelbock and not ruined with candy sugar like many of these Dutch bocks.

Cask@GBBF2007. Hazy golden colour, small white head. Aroma is really fruity and hoppy along with caramel. Flavour is honey, fruits, some slight papery nose and really caramelly. A very nicely balanced thing.
