750 ml bottle, shared with a certain MoritzF: light amber coloured, small, but quite stable foamy layer; sweet-malty and fruity (citrousy) nose; sweetish and light bitter flavour; sweetish, fruity, but also distinctive bitter finish. A pleasant, well rounded brew !

Bottle (75 cl, shared with MoritzF): Hazy, amber coloured, small but stable off-white head; exotic fruity aroma, sweet malt (caramel) in the nose, sweetish flavour, velvet MF; fruity, almost vinous finish with a bit of yeasty tartness in the very end. Nice, but boring.......

Bottled. (5.2% ABV) Unclear, orange, well-carbonating ale with a small, nitro-like off-white head. Nice lacings. Sweet, fruity aroma with some alcohol and spice. The flavor is quite sweet and fruity too, with a surprisingly well-pronounced alcohol taste, and some yeast and spicyness. Drying in the mouth. Lasting finish with bitterness and alcohol. Not bad, but I wonder how this would taste at 8% ABV if the alcohol flavor would increase at a similar rate. I would have guessed it was at 9% if I didn’t read the label first. (060808)

Cask gravity at Kent BF 2006. First beer of the Saturday session (3rd session for me). I had been waiting for this to come on for 2 days. Hazy amber colour with off white head. Yeasty, strong hop and grapefruit aroma. Bit earthy in mouth. Not a bad first attempt. Mouthfeel is just a little wrong.

Hazy redbrown color, short head, tiny particles floating around. Aroma of caramel malt, alcohol, some dried fruit, some bread and cookie. Very malty taste, bit fruity, slightly alcoholic, some anis and pepper maybe. Quite complex. Decent barley wine like beer.

Extremely cloudy nutbrown color, short off-white head. Aroma of caramel malt, some hop, bit spicy, yeasty. Taste of yeast, caramel malt. De Molen can do better.

33 cl bottle, 9.2% ABV, BB Nov 2006.Hazy orange color, some tiny debris, small off-white head. Strong aroma, some alcohol, malt, fruity of apricot and orange, soft spice. Thick body, bit creamy, but also sirupy texture. Taste of orange and sour grapefruit, some alcohol burn, malty, like in a good triple. In the end, the hopbitterness strikes back, quite complex. Maybe a bit too alcoholic, but i’m very surprised by this excellent triple!

Bottle at St George’s Cemetary RB Gathering. Thanks to Chris_o for bringing this. Russet colour with lasting cream head. Not sure on this. Bit of puke, some toffee. Not my kind of thing. Ughh.

Cloudy dark color, medium creamy head. Aroma of roasted malts, laurel, coffee. Sweet and roasted malty taste, soft creamy texture. Quite bitter in the end. It’s almost a dutch version of Guinness...but i like Guinness.
