From tap at BeerTemple, Amsterdam. Aroma is mildly roasted malt, caramel, chocolate, coffee. Flavour is mildly sweet and bitter. Body is medium. Good balance, tasty Porter, lots of coffee and chocolate. Didn’t get much of the peppers, unfortunately.

Bottle at home. Aroma is wheat, fruits, banana, citrus, spicy yeast, clove, peach. Flavour is moderate sweet with a little bitterness in the finish. Body is medium. Pretty neat, a Weizen on steroids. Rich and smooth.

Bottle at home. Aroma is malt, rye, citrus, ripe orange, orange peel, hops. Flavour is light to moderate sweet and moderate bitter. Body is medium, slightly malty creamy. Smooth one, good drinkability, surprisingly robust malt backbone and tasty orange flavours.

Bottle at home. Aroma is dark chocolate, dark roasted malt, big Bourbon, oak, vanilla, fudge, coffee, touch of liqourice in the finish. Flavour is quite sweet with some nice roasty bitterness in the finish. Body is full. Wow, very smooth and great balance! Delicious Bourbon BA Stout.

Bottle at home. Aroma is shitloads of dried fruits, apricots, prunes, oak, malt, caramel, sugary notes, ripe orange, slight touch of red wine. Flavour is sweet, a bit sticky. Body is full. Very nice, the barrel aging has added a healthy touch of oak and a hint of wine to the base beer.

From tap at Oedipus International Beer Festival 2016. Aroma is roasted malt, strong oak, a tad bretty, whiskey, lots of barrel notes, chocolate, some booze. Flavour is medium sweet with some sourish notes. Slightly boozy. Body is full. Not as bretty as expected but pretty damn tasty.

Bottle at home. Aroma is malt, caramel, hops, overripe fruits, pears, prunes, apricots, notes of chocolate and molasses, touch of alcohol. Flavour is medium to heavy sweet. Body is full, sticky mouthfeel. Good, but I expected a bit more from this, not roasty enough for my taste, yet nicely ripe fruity, on its way to being an English Barley Wine.

Bottle at Café Derat, Utrecht. The complex aroma consists of malt, sweet dried fruits, plenty of bourbon, booze, vanilla, touch of smoke. Flavour is medium to heavy sticky sweet with a vicious alcohol burn. Body is full. Impressive beer, love the complex all over the place aroma, unfortunately it’s a bit too heavy for it’s own good and I found the alcohol burn rather too much. Curious, interesting one.

Bottle at home. Aroma is fruity hops, sweet malt, caramel, orange, tangerine, grapefruit, tropical notes, candied fruits, pine. Flavour is medium sweet and moderate bitter. Body is medium. Has a really nice hoppy fruity malty aroma, but it’s a tad sweet and not bitter enough for my taste.
