Cask at Roscoe Head. Pours a clear yellow gold with a white head that dissipates slowly to the edges and laces. Aroma has earthy citrus and a hint of anise with straw underlying. Flavor has light citrus up front with growing straw and a hint of anise backing.

Cask-conditioned at the Postern Gate (JDW), York 12/11/2017. Dark brown in colour, with a tight, off-white, head. Berry fruits, a touch of citrus hop, brown sugar, chocolate malts, a hint of liquorice and dryish finish. Enjoyable.

Cask at the Post Office Vaults, Birmingham. Poured a slightly hazy straw colour with a frothy white head. The aroma is malt, light grassy hop. The flavour is moderate to light bitter with a light watery, grainy malt, light pepper spice, light hop bitter palate. Medium to light bodied with average carbonation.

On tap at the Three Stags, Bennington. Golden colour with a white head. Aroma slight cheese and fruity, light citrus. Taste is dry to light sweet to medium bitter. Refreshing body.

Cask at White Hart, Frimley Green. Floral honey aroma with a malty edge. Pale gold with a thin frothy white head. Light bitter with some herbal properties. Underlying sweetness. Light but with some slickness. Benefits frm soft carbonation. Long dry finish. Not too bad for a gold. Has some character.

ABV: 6.1%. Light unclear dark brown colour with a small to average, frothy, good lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, dark malt, wood - woody hops, light to moderate roasted, light moderate hoppy. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a long duration, sweet malt, dark malt, wood - woody hops. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat. [20171012]

Cask at Rose & Thistle, Frimley Green. First: referring to other ratings it looks like I was drinking a different beer or, perhaps more precisely, the cask was stale. Vague grassy pine aroma... just. Gold. Thin bubbly head. Bitter - builds up but only up to a medium. Not getting much fruit, other than one harsh grapefruit and quinine. Medium bodied. Slick. Flats carbonation. Abrupt finish. Let's blame the cask but all rather one noted and insipid.
