Handbill cask at the Angel Microbrewery, Nottingham. Yellow/gold, hazy. Spotty layer of white head and lots of lacing. Pineapple and mango aroma. The taste shows more of the malt characteristic although the hop is pretty dominant in the bitter finish. Tropical fruit notes on the astringent aftertaste. Well-rounded and delicious if indeed a trifle one-dimensional.

Cask @ Fox & Goose, Hebden Bridge. Golden with a small smooth head. It’s very hoppy with a dryness that lingers in the palate.

Cask at the Queens Edith, Cambridge. Light honoured brown with a dash of red. Tiny smattering of white head. Leafy, berry and red liquorice aroma. Not too in-your-face but very effective. Sweet fruity taste initially but by God there’s a bitter, bitter kick that takes hold and doesn’t let go until well after the sip is gone! Very astringent, waxy aftertaste. Pretty good session bitter, stands out a bit from your average low-strength cask.

(Cask at White Horse, Parson’s Green, London, 23 April 2017) Golden colour with foamy, white head. Fruity, hoppy nose with citrus, grapefruit and pineapple. Malty, fruity taste with notes of citrus, tropical fruit, pineapple and a balanced citric bitterness in a sweetish finish. Medium body, with a certain sweetness. Tasty and refreshing. Quite nice.
