Handpull cask at the Queen Edith, Cambridge. Aggressively poured which means a big loose white head and haziness which takes a while to settle. Straw, or at least very light yellow. Grapefruit peel oozes out of the aroma along with some possety notes. Mouth puckering bitterness in the taste. Nice but not clean. Some notes of wood shavings and a bold astringency that pervades. It does, as advertised, have a strong body for the ABV and style. I want to like it more than I do. I think it’s better than I think it is if that makes sense.

Chelmsford Winter Beer Fest (with Rune, Rasmus, Saxo and Camons) @ KEGS. Cask. Clear gold beer, a few pale cream colour bubbles. Light semi dry palate. Light and semi sweet malts. Ripe orange and grapefruit peel. mildly bitter. Light finish brings more orange and grapefruit. Seems a little tired.
