Bottled. Copper colour, rich, lasting head. Some grassy hops along with peat up front. Light-medium bodied with rich, buttery, peaty malt flavour. Medium bitterness.

(Bottled) Nut brown colour. Nice head. Smokey aroma with notes of tar. Dry, smoked and peaty flavour with a touch of toffee. An excellent alternative to single malt whisky.

Bottled. First impression is that itβs not that alcoholic for what should be listed as a Scottish beer. Still malty, but those malts have a light chicory coffee and toffee note, with some plums toward the end. Not cloying at all. A well-rounded session beer.

Bottled. Rating #450. Foamy head atop a brown body. Maple syrup texture, but lightly fizzy and malty as hell. Alcoholic nose is much strong than one would expect from its 8.5% abv. There are some hops here that come into play after a little while, at least.

Dark ruby, almost opaque black. Small tanned head. Crisp aroma. Roasted, chocolaty, a bit sweet flavor. Aftertaste brings some English hops.

Dark copper brown, small creamy brown head. "Barley wine"-nose: malty and alcoholic. Taste is sweet, malty, chewy with toffee notes. Oliy sweet aftertaste. Similar to Scoth Silly.

I had tried this one during a beer festival and had liked it, so I was looking forward to getting a whole bottle. Sadly I was quite disappointed. +++ Sampled from a 16.9 oz clear bottle the beer poured a dark ruby-mahogany color with lots of floaters. There was a sour vinegar aroma. The beer was somewhat flat. The flavor was bitter, had some hops and some roasted malt on the finish. Really I think I got a bad bottle. But any brewer that cares so little as to put the beer in a clear bottle deserves any poor ratings they get when their product is spoiled. Also they lose sales as I certainly will not risk my hard earned cash on another bottle of this stuff.
