Description
It started as a hobby. In 2012, four brewery friends decided to join their tasty tripel in the Brouwland Beer Competition. From a selection of more than 90 beers, our Bryggja was voted the best hobby beer in Belgium by a professional jury. The start of a great adventure! We took this opportunity with both hands and chose a name, bottle, a suitable design for our label ... With the Bruges Beer Festival 2013, our beer was launched. We brewed externally and the sales went beyond all expectations. The following year our 2nd beer "Amuse" came on the market. A spicy beer that is very suitable as an aperitif beer. At the end of 2014, the decision was made to fully go ahead and start our own brewery. We found a building in Moerkerke and in the spring of 2015 the brewing installation was installed. We only work with Belgian hops and can therefore also use the official logo. Our beer is a traditional product, with us no extracts, no flavor or foam enhancers. We like to keep it pure nature.

Pours extremely foamy. And when I say extreme, prepare to be on the lookout for ANY beer below the huge foam that fills the glass for 98 %. Yes, the beer was cold enough. Yes, the glass was clean. yes, i know how to pour a beer. No excuses for this mess !
Pours fairly unclear blonde, with a - as stated - giant head that fades very slow, especially concidering its size. usually extremely foamy beers die off within seconds, this lasts forever) . Fairly creamy on top, some bigger bubbles on the bottom, fading into some beer, at least. Scent is mild ( I guess the foam blocks it all) , some grains, fairly sweet impression. Bit metallic
Taste is somewhat metallic, and even though thats never pleasant, it doesnt make the beer undrinkable ( the foam does) Still quite heavy carbonated, and I guess the foam took most of it off already. Mild maltyness, low amounts of earthy / spicy hops ( would guess something in the line of saaz ) . Mild esters and phenols, for the style. I'd class it more into the Belgian Golden Strong Ale category, than a tripel. Either way, whatever it is (supossed to be) i'd be VERY surprised if this doesnt have (too much) foam enhancers added to it. In combination with what must be overcarbonation, the beer is unpleasantly foamy. I know I repeat myself here, but after writing this review in about 10 minutes ( sipping trough the foam ) my glass is still half full... Of foam. there's extreme, and than there's this beer. Reflection in the score is a very low score on texture, the beer itself is better (minus the metallic note) than the score would normally suggest in my ratings.

330ml bottle from Vinmonopolet Nettbutikk. Shared with Finn at Bergstua. Filmy layer, hazy orange coloured body, faint lacing. Inviting mid-sweet aromas of apricot and orange. Quite similar taste; apricot, citrus joined by almond and yeasty fruitiness. Rather sweet, lingering ripe fruity ending. Pretty good. (Malangen 28.10.2020).
