Description
Four Winds joined the burgeoning BC craft beer scene and opened their doors to a public thirsty for new local offerings on June 1, 2013. Owned, operated and built from the ground up by the Mills family and friends, we are inspired by the Four Winds in gathering flavours from around the world to create our unique West Coast and European styles. We take great pleasure in the application of new world innovations while staying true to old world techniques. Motivated by the limitless potential of beer, as well as the great brewers who came before us, we aim to craft bold beers with character, depth, and balance.

Hazy light amber color with small compact head. Wonderful fruity hop aroma, apricots. The malt flavor has some caramel tendency, just a bit chewy, whereas the current trend would be to brew leaner beers; good hopping, that is both fruity and resiny. Light animal touch.
Very good, but a bit heavy.

Hazy amber color with small head. Very nice aroma, tropical fruits, pineapple being more evident. Nice mouthfeel, quite round and smooth; strong caramel flavor, moderately sweet, quickly getting nutty; strong bitterness, with good hop resins and hop fruitiness. Balanced. Possibly there is a light buttery touch.
Very good, although I prefer when IPAs are less caramelly.

Draught at Pumphouse, Richmond, BC
Hazy golden color with small head. It has a very mild character, lighter in the aroma, more reasonable flavor, with just some spices; some coriander and orange peel; it has overall a feeling of dirty water; correct bitterness. Not offensive, but should be tuned up

Hazy light amber color with compact head. Moderate grass aroma, slightly metallic (6.5). Good round mouthfeel; with such color, the malt base has an expected caramel component (7.5), some cereal, a bit of hay, that plays well with the grass power from the hop; strong bitterness, leading to a satisfactory final, almost pungent, chewy, long, perfect.
Almost Kellerbier, excellent.

The color is light amber, hazy, with creamy head. Dry but solid mouthfeel, with good malts accent, and almost a citrusy touch (cedar); the bitterness level is strong but balanced.
Unexpected, very interesting.

750mL bottle, pours a murky dark orange / brown with a large off-white head. Aroma brings out loads of floral notes, a little chamomile, and soft bready notes. Flavour is extremely floral and chamomile-y, with the spices absolutely dominating everything. Not much saison character left. This could be more enjoyable with less of the flower and chamomile, but as is, it's not really my thing.

On tap at Four Winds, pours a clear pale golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out banana, clove, and toasted malt. Flavour is fairly dry and banana-like, with toasted malt, a little rye, banana and cloves. Dry palate, and very light. Nothing special but well-made.

On tap at Four Winds, pours a hazy dark golden copper with a large beige head. Nose brings out fresh English hops, toasted malt, and bread. Flavour brings out very English hops, toasted malt, and some spicy herbal qualities. Quite smooth and well-finished. Solid stuff.
