Description
Four Winds joined the burgeoning BC craft beer scene and opened their doors to a public thirsty for new local offerings on June 1, 2013. Owned, operated and built from the ground up by the Mills family and friends, we are inspired by the Four Winds in gathering flavours from around the world to create our unique West Coast and European styles. We take great pleasure in the application of new world innovations while staying true to old world techniques. Motivated by the limitless potential of beer, as well as the great brewers who came before us, we aim to craft bold beers with character, depth, and balance.

On tap at the Alibi Room, pours a clear golden yellow with a small white head. Aroma and flavour of loads of cracker malt, cereal, and some crisp dry grassy hops. Great crisp mouthfeel with very high drinkability. Not the best local pilsner, but pretty high up there. Great stuff.

Growler, pours a cloudy golden with a medium white head. Aroma of Belgian yeast, some green apples, a little bit of spice, and a little wheat. Flavour is very dry and sharp, with notes of Belgian yeast, crisp crackery malt, and some very dry astringent hops. Extremely dry mouthfeel, with quite a sharp astringency on the finish. Fairly complex and and easy to drink. The astringency becomes easier and easier to digest the more you drink. Must be the best year-round local saison. Great stuff.

1L growler, pours a hazy golden orange with a medium white head. Aroma of resinous and piney hops, and some caramel biscuity malt backing. Flavour is very similar, with loads of piney, resinous hops, some dry woody notes, and a biscuity malt backbone. Quite woody and piney, with a dry mouthfeel, making this have very high drinkability. This is definitely one of the better IPAs in BC - after the first few batches, this improved markedly.

1L growler, pours a hazy golden orange with a small off-white head. Aroma brings out floral hops, biscuity malts, and some light fruity esters. Flavour is quite hoppy for a pale ale, with floral hops, very light fruity esters, and biscuity malts to back. Quite a crisp, dry mouthfeel with very high drinkability. Great stuff.
