Description
Four Winds joined the burgeoning BC craft beer scene and opened their doors to a public thirsty for new local offerings on June 1, 2013. Owned, operated and built from the ground up by the Mills family and friends, we are inspired by the Four Winds in gathering flavours from around the world to create our unique West Coast and European styles. We take great pleasure in the application of new world innovations while staying true to old world techniques. Motivated by the limitless potential of beer, as well as the great brewers who came before us, we aim to craft bold beers with character, depth, and balance.

2018-02-27, corked bottle, bottled Sept 03 2014, 3+ years ago, 8.5% ABV, 7-4-7-3-15=36
Stored horizontally, the cheap cork is wet on the tip and in perfect conditions. Golden color, hazy, with large frothy head, the result of an existing strong carbonation. The aroma is strong; Brett and cork are in evidence. Good body strength, with high carbonation; very strong Brett character, woody, corky and astringent; touch of bitter orange peel in the final.
Interisting aging experiment.
2015-11-11, draught at Bitter Tasting Room, Vancouver, 12 oz, 8.5% ABV, 7-5-8-4-16=40
Cloudy golden color with compact head. The aroma is mildly tart and funky; full bodied, quite smooth, with some residual sweetness; it has funky and astringent notes, some malt flavor, but most notably a very nice touch of sweet oranges; not very bitter.
Balanced, rich, excellent.
2014-06-03, draught at Alibi Room, Vancouver, as Super Saison, 9% ABV, 7-4-7-4-15=37
Cloudy golden color. The aroma is flowery, some elderflowers and orange blossom. Full bodied but quite smooth; strong flavor derivation from the yeast, spicy; not much Brett or Lacto; moderately sweet; it has some fruity traits, correct bitterness, a touch of bitter oranges and mild astringency in the final.
Very nice, comprehensive.

Pours clear orange with a smooth head. Aroma of rye, grassy hops, wheaty yeastiness and spices. Taste is hoppy, malty and wheaty with loads of rye, earthy notes and yeast. Malty and hoppy finish with some rye bread notes and wheaty yeastiness. Quite a strange combination but works surprisingly well.
