Description
The former name was brewery De Brouwketel, which was in operation at the current location at least from 1706 onwards. In 1884 the brewery became the property of the Duysters family. In 1968 the company was transformed into Duysters NV (limited liability company) which was active as a brewery until 1973.
The Loterbol brewpub started in 1995 in a renovated part of the brewery from the 18th century. in 2002 brewing started in the old brewery building of 1908. Both locations are still used for brewing.

2017 bottle. Clear golden color with huge carbonation and a huge creamy white head. Aroma is citrus, some stinky feet, some fresher fruits, goosberries. Taste is dusty malts, funky, leathery, a bit sugary as well, booze in the back. Oily mouthfeel with a surprisingly soft carbonation. Fun, but quite weird.

Bottle thanks to Brian. Pours a cloudy orange gold with thick frothy white head leaving sticky lacing. The aroma is strong funk, rubber, oak, stone fruit. Medium body, funky, cheese, grape skin, light dry finish, very good.

Vintage 2006. 375mL bottle, pours a hazy dark amber orange with a small off-white head. Nose brings out light barnyard funk, with some leather and light oxidation. Flavour is along the same lines, with light barnyard funk, some leather, a bit of a vinous character, and very minor oxidation for such an old beer. This has held up impressively. Very nice.

Bottle from 3 Fonteinen in Lot. 2017er Version. Fresh sour nose. The beer starts funky with lots of horse blanket. Deep fruity with a nice sourish ending. The blonde Tripel is nearly gone behind the sourness, deep and refreshing with a great funky sour ending. Soft with still hints of Belgian yeast. Nice smooth sour, moderate bitter, nice.

Bottle at De Heeren van Liedekercke, shared with Anke and Pieter.
Pours cloudy dark brown (almost black) with a small, off-white head. The aroma contains brown sugar, caramel, dark chocolate, licorice, malt, some spices. It tastes medium to heavy sugary sweet (and this does not contain candi sugar?) and light spicy bitter. Some warming alcohol. Medium body, slick/sticky texture, fizzy carbonation. Remarkable how this doesn't become really cloying, but remains quite tasty.

Opaque dark brown colour, good frothy beige head, slowly diminishing, light lacing. Aroma roasted malts, dark fruits, caramel, cane sugar, spicy notes. Taste light heavy sweet and medium bitter, malty, fruity, toffee. Sweetbitter aftertaste, sugary, quite spicy. Full-bodied, oily texture, soft carbonation, very rich and complex.
