Taster at the brewery. Hazy, orange color, with a small, foamy, white head. The aroma is strong chardonnay, peaches, lime juice, cinnamon, and apple. Very tart flavor, with some fruity sweetness. Medium body, with a sharp, acidic palate. This is a complex, fruity, and well made sour.

Taster at the brewery. Dark, almost black, color, with a small, tan head. The aroma is cognac, molasses, black bread, dates, cardamom, and dried apricots. Sweet and boozy, with a touch of bitterness. Medium to heavy body, with a smooth, silky, and warming mouthfeel. This is a decadent and delicious beer.

Got in a trade with beergoot. 375 ml bottle into snifter, bottled in 2017. Pours opaque dark brown/black color with a small dense and creamy light khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a thin lace cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a light amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, molasses, licorice, raisin, prune, fig, cherry, date, roasted nuts, toasted biscuit, and dark bread/crust; with lighter notes of smoke, charcoal, wood, leather, tobacco, herbal, grass, peppercorn, and yeast/roast/toasted earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of dark/black/roast/bready malts, fruity yeast, and light-moderate earthy hop notes; with big strength. Taste of huge dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, molasses, licorice, raisin, prune, fig, cherry, date, roasted nuts, toasted biscuit, and dark bread/crust; with lighter notes of smoke, charcoal, wood, leather, tobacco, herbal, grass, peppercorn, and yeast/roast/toasted earthiness. Light herbal, woody, grassy, peppery, roast, charred bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, molasses, licorice, raisin, prune, fig, cherry, date, roasted nuts, toasted biscuit, dark bread/crust, smoke, charcoal, wood, leather, tobacco, herbal, grass, peppercorn, and yeast/roast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/black/roast/bready malts, fruity yeast, and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; with an awesome roast/hop bitter/sweet balance; and no cloying, acrid, astringent flavors after the finish. Lightly increasing dryness from lingering hop/char bitterness. Light carbonation and full body; with a very smooth, creamy/silky/velvety/bready, and lightly slick/sticky/chalky mouthfeel that is fantastic. Mild increasing warmth of 12%, with no booziness lingering after the finish. Overall this is an outstanding imperial stout. All around awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/black/roast/bready malts, fruity yeast, and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; very smooth and dangerously easy to sip on for the big ABV, with the mildly bitter/drying finish; fantastic soft feel. Tastes a bit Belgian to me, but works really well. Perfectly balanced between rich English malts/oats, and fruity yeast; with solid earthy hop presence. Light residual sweetness with lingering dryness. A highly enjoyable offering, and very impressive style example.

On tap at Trail's End. Pours black, with a small, frothy, brown head. The aroma is chocolate syrup, mild maple, and toffee. Very sweet and sugary, with no bitterness or booziness. Fairly heavy body, with a thick, syrupy palate. This is a decadent and fun stout, but it is a little cloying.

Waxed 12.7 oz bottle. Aroma is honey, booze, wood. Pours hazy orange-golden with a fleeting bone-white head. Taste is sweet and savory, with flavors of honey, tea, bourbon, licorice. I like this beer, but I wouldn't say it's extremely enjoyable. The flavors they coaxed out of it are impressive and complex, and it's getting me pretty fucked up, but I won't be seeking it out again. One of those beers that's a bit too massive for its own good. One and done.

12.7 oz bottle rated up the river on paper yesterday. Aroma is garden fresh cucumbers, garden sugar snap peas, lemon. Pours hazy golden with a one finger off-white head with decent retention. Taste is light to moderately tart (6/10) with garden fresh flavors. Yummy and interesting.

Waxed 12 oz bottle. Aroma is pungent sour cultures and brett, lemon, some herbal hoppage, light oak. Pours murky burnt orange with sediment on the bottom, and a one finger beige head that falls into a ring somewhat quickly. Taste is highly sour (10/10) and a bit savory, finishing with a light dryness. Not really getting any bitterness for a label boasting of 100 IBUs. Flavors of lacto, brett, lemon, oak; coriander is just a bit noticeable as a lingering flavor on the back end. Intense and good, especially for something with such a low ABV.

On Tap at BitterCreek, Boise. Foggy light golden with a big fluffy white head. Deep resinous hop character, full bodied for a hazy and a lingering sharp piney hop bite.
