Description
Mission Brewery was originally established in 1913, but like most breweries of the time, it went out of business during the first year of Prohibition. In 2007, Dan Selis, an avid homebrewer, re-established the brand and has built it into one of the top craft breweries in San Diego County.

Red hue, deep amber color. Very malty with caramel and strawberry notes. Fairly boozy. Ok. Not very distinguishable.

Refrigerated 12 oz. brown bottle poured into a glass. Pours hazy deep golden with very small white head. Aroma is banana, medium body, well carbonated, and very little lacing. Taste is banana and grainy. Below average for me.

Cool as hell 32oz! can. It pours with a crystal clear deep gold body that supports a nice looking dirty white head of foam. The aroma offers up spicy hops that have a dank edge to them and slide toward clementine and tangelo like citrus hoppiness. The taste is similar as hops dance across the palate with a fairly clean light body, I need to find a way to get this uber fresh sometime. With this can I get spicy hops that area a bit earthy and dank. Then as the spicy hops take hold some clementine and tangelo hop bitterness notes come to the surface to join in with the rest of the flavors. Nice Pale.

Draft at the brewery - San Diego. Pours deep black-brown with a tight, creamy mocha cap. The nose holds dark malts, burnt baked beans, coffee. Medium to big sweet flavor with roasted marshmallows, milk chocolate, dark cherries, alcohol, torched wood, vanilla. Full bodied with fine, massaging carbonation. Warming finish with lots of roast, some ash, more scorched marshmallows, vanilla pods, mocha, earth, dried fruits. Very tasty. Certainly has some punch but it never seems heavy handed. Good effort.

Draft at the brewery - San Diego. Pours lightly hazy amber with a creamy tan head. Rich bread in the nose with plenty of pine and dank, lightly darkened citrus. Medium to big sweet flavor with lots of ripe, juicy citrus, grapefruit, berries, orange, red meat, heavy bread, sticky pine. Medium to full bodied with fine to average carbonation. Sweet finish, well and resinous with juicy citrus fruits, some urine, bread, toffee, ripe orange. Heavy duty stuff but is still pretty tasty and drinkable.

Light sweet flavor with balanced wheat and pale malts, mild yeast, lemon, low bitter hay. Light bodied with average carbonation. Very clean to finish with crispy cereal, hay, dry wheat.
