Description
Libertine Brewing Company was founded in 2012 on the premise of bringing the best beer selection to the Central Coast, while brewing unique beers and products to compliment. With a strong emphasis on tradition while still being authentic to our region, we have grown from a small brewpub on the water in Morro Bay, to a 9000 square foot production and tasting facility on the edge of downtown San Luis Obispo. All of our Wild Ales are brewed and transferred into an open-top coolship overnight, which allows the local wild yeasts of our area time to naturally fall in and start the fermentation process, giving our beers a true Central Coast Terroir. Along with Wild Ales, we also make cold-brewed coffee that is aged in bourbon and wine barrels and spiced with local ingredients foraged from the surrounding hills.

Gut! 11/9/11/12/9/11

Capped and corked 750 from Capitol Beer in Sacramento, CA. Pours translucent pinkish gold with a whitish head. Aroma is raspberry with a sourish aspect. Near med body. Flavor is raspberry, then gets a bit sourish, maybe shows some pedio. It seems dry and tart to me. Not to mention berry. Quite drinkable, if you enjoy raspberry.

Tap at Capitol Beer in Sacramento, CA. Pours rather dark gold with a white head. Aroma is fruity and a little "wild". Could be Brett. Fruit could be tropical. Med body. Flavor is a little Brett, a little spicy, and tropicalish fruit. I’m not good at those - So call it passion fruit. :) The mild "wild" confuses the fruit flavors for me. Anyway - Nice Ale. Drinkable. Very!
