Original Rating August 21st 2013 . Bottle @ paters vaetje pours fuzzy yellow/blonde , good white foam . smells like a white taste is sweet, corny good carbo nice .

Edit 2021 : over the years, Whenever I had this beer in a buisness I work, I wouldn't sell it. Not a single bottle. In well over a year, untill we gave them away free from charge. Eversince they're all gone, people ask me so, so damn often about why we don't have it ( sometimes multiple times a week) , or friends and familie speak fond of it when they try it. I had it back in 2013 (short review) but didn't think it was specific, or great, or unique. But oh well, some beers just call for a re-try, do they not ? So lets have this again with more base knowledge than I had back than, as well as more experience. Perhaps it'll be better now ?

The beer pours a hazed blonde, under a seemingly stable, medium sized white head (pillowy) . Scent is mild, very mild even. Hints of malts, traces of what seems like isoamylacetate. Taste is malty, bit bitter. Very intense yeast profile ( BE yeast, loads of isoamylacetate as well as some phenols). Tad wheat, maybe ? High carbonation (to high for my taste, which makes me wonder if the beer was less carbonated in 2013, or I just enjoy lower levels now as I did back than) . Medium to slightly below medium body. Just as I remember it to be, it's pretty forgetable, and simply not unique in any way. On the other hand, just like before, there's nothing to say here thats 'wrong' with the beer in any way.

(Bottle, Café Rose Red, Brugge, 17 July 2012) Hazy golden colour with frothy, white head. Fruity, slightly hoppy nose with notes of dried fruit, citrus, lemon peel and hay. Fruity, malty taste with citrus, apricots, hay and grassy hops. More than medium body, slightly sweetish with a gentle bitterness. Nice one.

Note: had this beer many times before, and always assumed I had already rated it. Silly me! :p Little cloudy blond beer, huge white creamy head, stable, pretty adhesive. Aroma: pretty floral, herbal, bit grassy, yeast touch. MF: ok carbon, medium to full body. Taste: ripe summer fruits, bit sweet, candi sugar, bitter hops, citrus. Aftertaste: grassy hops, herbal, bit spicy, some oranges, sugary.

Tasted Blind at a tasting party in Gent

A - Half finger white head. SRM of 4. Light gold

S - wheat and grass. Corn and figs. Very light dry smell.

T - Once again. Too sweet. Very dry champagne taste. Wheat and pears. Apples? Getting slight hint of egg white

M - 100% carbonation. Medium body. Lingering saison and wheat

O - 90/100. Tastes like a borderline cheap beer but it’s tasty and drinkable. Pretty okay smell and decent taste.

Brown 33cl bottle, best before June 2012, poured into an ’Augustijn’ badged chalice in June 2011. The second beer of an ’odd-ball beer tasting evening’. The beer is a dull golden colour, slight haze showing. Thin white covering for a head. Very little in the way of smells, semi-sweet summer garden hints, but no real aroma to talk about. This is a sweet fruity beer, with a yeasty front that struggles to hide the 8.0%ABV alcohol content this beer packs. The overall feeling is fine, in fact very pleasant, the alcohol sits well within the strength and depth of the brew. I’m a fan of the sweeter beers and this is my sort of brew: the beer is well balanced, a little too sweet for some maybe, but in my opinion this is good stuff.
