Cask @ Old Gate, Hebden Bridge. Copper-gold with a small head. Clearly strong, but not strong tasting with a light full bodied hoppy character. There’s a light dry sweetness to the ale too.

Keg at the brewery taproom. Pours deep brown with a creamy khaki head. Balanced, moderate roast aroma with some burnt malts, cocoa, pine. Medium sweet flavor, still nicely balanced, with some dark sugars, burnt toast, a bit of ripe orange. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Lightly resinous on the finish with some lightly roasted dark malts, mild char, baking cocoa, citrus rind, burnt pine. Very good stuff. Exceedingly drinkable.

Bottle, Cotteridge Wines, Birmingham. Hazy amber pour with a lingering thin off white head. Aroma had some piney hop, citrus and malts in the house. Sweetish flavour had notes of pine, caramel, spice, wood and tropical fruits. Dryish bitter finish. For some reason a bit better than anticipated.
