0.5 l bottle, BB date 8th Nov. Poured murky golden body with big ebony head. Typical nice hefeweizen aroma, yeasty, fruity and spicy, specially banana dominated. Flavor is also very pleasant, bit sweetish and fruity, but relatively watery. Finish is very nice as well, banana and vanilla dominated, but quite short. Very nice beer and quite good for the style, although lacks some body.

Bottle. dark brown with a moderate white head. Dryish dark fruit aroma with some toffee sweetness. Very sweet flavour with a dryish finish. Like the Andechser doppelbock, this was too sweet and clinical for me.

Medium white fine-laced head. Yellow body with light carbonation. Soft earthy aroma with notes of light malts and apple. Dry earthy, resiny apple and malts taste with notes of dry straw. Very clean and fresh palate. Harmonic and balanced. Slightly harsh mouthfeel. Dry, chewy earthy hoppy aftertaste. A great pilsener. (0.5l bottle at Cardinal.)

Säuerlich-spritziger Antrunk, der Hefeton ist als kräftige Unternote weithin vorhanden und erkennbar. Die Säuerlichkeit wird im Mittelteil stärker und dämpft diue Süffigkeit spürbar, auch die Spritzigkeit ist weniger geworden. Die Hefigkeit wird dagegen etwas schwächer, das Bier wirkt wässrig. Milderer Nachgeschmack, der dem Mittelteil gleicht. Test vom 14.11.2007, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 9,8,7,6,9,7 - 7,30

Leicht oxidierter Geruch, der in Teilen auch im Geschmack erkennbar ist. Herb-süßer, sehr süffiger Antrunk mit sehr aromatischen Noten in Karamellrichtung. Der Hopfen wirkt muffig, was aber nicht negativ gemeint ist. Etwas blumig, herb-malzig, sehr süffig. Ausgewogen, besonders im Abgang sind sehr interessante Aromen vin hellem, leicht karamellisiertem Malz erkennbar, die überaus voluminös wirken.

500 ml bottle, courtesy of Cardinal pub, Stavanger. ABV is 5.5. Deep golden colour, large head. Nice aroma for a golden lager: fruity and floral hops with moderate malts. The flavour is fairly malty and well rounded, some sweetness, balanced by moderate hops. Soft mouthfeel. A decent lager, well above average.

500 ml bottle, courtesy of Cardinal pub, Stavanger, as (Marke) Weltenburger Hefe-Weissbier Dunkel. ABV is 5.3%. Despite using the "Marke Weltenburger" label of the Bischofshof-brewed beers, and not the "Weltenburger Kloster" label of the original monastery brewery, the rear label claims that this bottle has actually been brewed and bottled in the Klosterbrauerei. BB date 21.02.08. Hazy brown beer, huge off-white head. The moderate aroma has a strange combination of brown bread / bakery and citrussy notes, hints of cloves. The flavour has malty and bready notes, again combined with citrussy / lemony notes. Relatively light bodied and easy drinking. I had it on its own, probably nice with a light meal.

500 ml bottle, courtesy of Cardinal pub, Stavanger. Contract brewed for Weltenburger by Brauerei Bischofshof in Regensburg. ABV is 5.4%. Very pale straw colour, slightly hazy, huge head. Lovely typical Hefe-Weissbier aroma, notes of cloves and banana / bubblegum. The flavour has also banana and cloves, hints of lemons, light bodied, minimal hops.

Shared by Badgerben. This is one of the best dunkels I have had. The aroma and flavor is very full with roasted malt and caramel, almost like a full bodied bock. Heavy palate.
