12oz can pours a mostly clear, very dark caramel with some creamy, white head. Aroma is nice and fairly standard, orange rind, lemon, biscuit, cracker, a little caramel. Flavor is the same, really spot on style wise, a balance of orange and caramel, malt, cracker, lemon. Clean finish. Really spot on.

On draft at Lost Dog in Mclean VA. Vintage 2013 but seems to be the same recipe as the retired 2011 version. Pours a clear copper with a thick off white head. Floral hop nose. Flavors of pine, aromatic herbs and citrus. Bitter finish. Nice cross between Belgian and American IPA styles.

Draft at the VA Craft Brewers Festival, Devils Backbone, 8/24/13. Pours a hazy orange color with a large creamy white head. Good head retention. Aroma of pumpkin, chocolate, whiskey, herbal hops. The taste is chocolate, mild pumpkin, whiskey, caramel, spice. Medium bodied, subtle, well balanced. Very nice.

Bottle I brought to Brewdown. Pours cloudy orange gold with white head. Nose and taste of bread, wheat malt and tea. Lightly sweet. Medium body.

750 ml bottle into pint glass, best before 6/2014 stamped on the cork. Pours lightly cloudy reddish copper color with a 2-3 finger dense and fluffy light khaki head with incredible retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts the whole glass. Dense soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a lot of streaming carbonation retaining the head. Aromas of caramel, pear, raisin, apple, toast, biscuit, brown sugar, floral, grass, light pine, and yeast earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of malt and fruity ester notes; with good strength. Taste of caramel, brown sugar, toast, biscuit, pear, apple, pepper, floral, pine, grass, and yeast earthiness. Light pine bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of caramel, brown sugar, toast, biscuit, light fruits, floral, pepper, light pine, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Damn nice balance of malt, hop, and fruity ester flavors; with good robustness and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium-high carbonation and medium bodied; with a moderately creamy and crisp mouthfeel that is very nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a light warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is an excellent ESB style. All around great balance and complexity of malt, yeast, and hop flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A very enjoyable offering.

350ml bottle thanks to Matt. Pours out a honey amber topped with a long lasting white head. Aroma spice, pit fruit, barrel, and some belg yeats. Taste of plum, tropical fruit, spice, and a little heat on the end.

0.75l corked bottle from my secret Santa 2012. Its really deep and dark brown in the glass this one, and it has a nice medium sized dark brown head. On the nose I get lots of wood and cellar tones. Dark coffee, some vanilla and chocolate. Smells absolutely decent, but I also feel that something is lacking. It's really soft on the carbonation and the mouthfeel is good oily. First thing I can say about this is that it's scary light drinkable. No traces of any alcohol what so ever, it's mild and really round. A nice coffee roastiness with chocolate, cellar, a faint acidity that breaks the dark up a bit and a almost vanilla sweetness. Also some dry licorice. Make that lots of dry almost salty licorice that gets more and more present to note longer down the bottle you get. Perhaps not what I would describe as a flavor bomb per say, but it's a really really good beer. Something I could drink lots of if I had it available. Have to admit that I had never heard of this before. Thanks Santa! 06 04.2013

On tap @ Mudville 9. A clear deep dark almost bronze/copper colored one with a small quickly sidesticking just off-white top. Light and mild on the nose, hard to get any specific aroma here. Think I'll have to wait a while for the beer to settle. Soft malty tones with a little bit of sweetness. Some red allows perhaps and a hint of red berries. Fair non extreme. Taste is much more present though. Almost a little sticky oily on the mouthfeel and the carbonation is below average. A little trace of something fruity in the taste. Hard to pinpoint really, but I'm really enjoying the beer. Lacks perhaps a bit of bitterness in the whole experience. Opened up after a while with floral traces. 20.06.2013
