750 ml bottle into snifter, best before May 2013 stamped on the cork. Pours fairly pitch black color with a small dense khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a thin lace cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass. Aromas of milk chocolate, coffee, roasted malt, cocoa, bourbon, oak, vanilla, toast, toffee, light clove, raisin, and roasted earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of roasted notes with chocolate, coffee, and barrel character; and good strength. Taste of milk chocolate, cocoa, coffee, roasted malt, vanilla, toast, oak, bourbon, light char, raisin, toffee, light clove, and roasted earthiness. Slight coffee bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of milk chocolate, coffee, roasted malt, cocoa, vanilla, toast, toffee, bourbon, oak, raisin, brown sugar, and roasted earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Nice balance and complexity roasted malt, chocolate, and coffee flavor with moderate fruitiness; with a balanced barrel presence and zero cloying sweetness after the finish. Light carbonation and medium-full bodied; with a moderately creamy and slick mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a slight warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is a very good barrel aged stout. Nice balance and complexity of chocolate, coffee, roast, and barrel flavors; and very smooth to sip on for the gravity. A nicely enjoyable offering.

750 ml bottle into tulip glass, best before June 2014 on the cork. Pours lightly hazy golden amber color with a 2-3 finger dense white head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass. Aromas of big lemon, pear, apple, pepper, floral, bread, honey, cracker, grass, and yeast earthiness. Very nice aromas with great balance of malt, hop, and yeast ester notes; with good strength. Taste of lemon, pear, apple, pepper, floral, bread, cracker, honey, grass, and yeast earthiness. Light earthy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of light fruits, pepper, floral, bread, honey, cracker, grass, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Damn nice balance and good complexity of earthy hops, malt, and fruity ester flavors; with zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a lightly slick, smooth, and fairly crisp mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is a damn nice Imperial pils! All around nice balance of hop, malt, and fruity ester flavors; and very smooth to drink. A very enjoyable offering.

A golden amber ale with a thick creamy mocha head. In aroma, biscuit malt with grassy hops and light sulfur. In mouth, a smooth biscuit malt with herbal hops, light mineral notes, nutty notes, decent.

Had this at the Summer NOVA BrewFest. Poured a slightly cloudy color with a small fluffy white head. Aroma was wheat, cloves, spices, and yeast. Flavor was pretty tasty - banana, cloves. A touch more carbonation to make this one really refreshing, especially since alcohol is pretty well subdued in this one.

Spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with moderate streaming carbonation. Aromas of big peach, pear, apple, apricot, orange, floral, grass, pepper, clove, honey, candi sugar, and earthy yeast spiciness. Damn nice aromas with good balance and complexity of fruity/spicy yeast esters with a moderate malt balance; and good strength. Taste of peach, pear, apple, apricot, orange, floral, grass, pepper, clove, candi sugar, light caramel, bread, and yeast earthiness on the finish. Lingering notes of light fruits, citrus, floral, grass, pepper, clove, candi sugar, light caramel, bread, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice balance and complexity of fruity/spicy yeast esters with a moderate malt balance; with a nice sweetness/spiciness balance and no cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full bodied; with a slick and lightly syrupy mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a small warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is an excellent Tripel style. All around nice balance and complexity of fruity/spicy yeast esters with candi sugar malts; and very smooth to sip on. Really enjoyed this one.

On draft at Lost Dog McLean VA pours a clear amber with an off white head. Fruity hop nose. Hops dominate but over a malty backbone. Bitter finish.

From a 12.7 oz bottle shared at home. Pours a dark cola brown with a thin tan head. Aroma of dark fruits,. Flavors of plum, chocolate and some oak. Very rich mouthfeel and flavors, Smooth finish. Nice.

Draft at the brewpub. Pours a clear vibrant copper color with a medium sized creamy tan head. Good head retention. Aroma of fruity, floral hops, pale lightly toasted malts. The taste is pale malts, floral, fruity, herbal hops. Medium bodied, faint hint of booze.
