(Bottle 33 cl) Slightly hazy, deep golden with a white head. Fresh and very fruity nose with lots of banana and yeast. Full-bodied. lots of sweet malt and fruit, and a whiff of yeast and diacetyl before a dry finish. Quite lovely actually. 080707

Is there a future for "Export" then? It would seem so as this is the second new one to appear. Fluffy, snowwhite head, reasonably dense over metallic golden beer. Pure malt, this, golden warm malt before going into the gristmill, even some chaff. Sweet, very malty, and a little extra taste of - what: the fat for hot dogs? Strange, a bit medicinal, but not invading. I suspect fatty acids. Nearly medium bodied, slick, even a bit oily. Fatty acids? In a bottom-fermenting beer? Ovey, the taste is OK.

(Bottle 33 cl) Beautiful, clear, orangey brown close to mahogany. Nice and lasting beige head. Aroma of roasted malt and alcohol. A fairly solid and vinous body with some notes of dried fruit and lots of roasted malt and some port. Dry, lightly hoppy finish. Quite delicate really. 041106

Bottle Hazy, blond body. Frothy to rocky head which collapses swiftly. At a point it was really collapsing: the air holes just beneath the top foam became so large that the roof collapsed onto the bottom foam. Aroma of hops and orange. Nice aroma but not mindblowing. Moderately bitter, lightly sweet initial flavour. Heavily bitter finish. A nice bitter ale which is not extraordinary, but certainly better than the average belgian ale.

Golden color; nice thin perlage; thick head, big. The classic aroma for a Tripel, the taste is in the beginning not so special, but revealing later some malt (still dry mouthfeel) and a good hopping. In the final, the bitterness is long, bearing some Belgian hop aromas as well.

2009-10-17, draught at Spuyten Duyvil, New York, 5-5-6-3-11=30
Hazy dark amber color; creamy head. It smells a bit of old tap, and yeast. It’s too much carbonated, caramel flavor, a bit woody; the final bitterness is too much for a Belgian Ale. It seems that this beer has suffered.

Dark brown color; thin head. The aroma is malty, with caramel and malt fruitness. The taste has some caramel and a lot of candi sugar, light cookies; the mouthfeel is too thin. Not bad, but they should use more malt and less candi.
