Pour is a copper with a large white head. Aroma is decently hopped. Flavor is a little watery but there is a decent enough malt with some hops to round things out. It was just ok and a beer that smelled a whole lot better coming out of the bottle.

Aroma: The nose starts off fairly subtle, but shows up with some warmth: pine, resin, and citrus fruits
Appearance: Pours a slightly cloudy orange color, a thin sheet of white head, and mid-heavy lacing
Flavor: The flavor is more pronounced, a light-medium sweetness balanced by a mid-heavy bitterness
Palate: The body is medium, it has a average carbonation, a slightly sticky texture, and a semi-dry finish
Overall Impression: I thought this was a pretty solid beer. It is on-style as an IPA. I thought that this one was both well-made and enjoyable. The nose comes out a little more as it warms, and that temperature is really where this beer is better enjoyed. I thought the flavor was pretty good, and it had a nice drink to it. Let it warm to close to room temperature, and enjoy.

12oz bottle. Opaque brown-black with a steady beige head. Tropical fruit aroma. Really nice summit(?) hop taste, very tropical and big to be able to stand up the specialty malts. Not as syrupy of cloying as some Black IPAs can be, this one is really well done. Has that true to style oily black malt taste, but also really has quite an impressive hop profile, way beyond what you might expect from Summit.

Purchased at Binny’s in Chicago for my birthday in July, enjoyed at the end of October after a wedding tasting (for my future wedding). Appearance a slightly cloudy pale yellow with a very frothy white head. Aroma mostly of yeast, maybe a touch of crisp malt, hopefully the taste isn’t altered by the age of this. Taste is pretty crisp, mostly yeasty, somewhat thin, overall pretty decent, nothing exemplary.

Purchased at Binny’s to celebrate my birthday in July, enjoyed on Halloween weekend...it’s been in the back of my fridge for quite some time. Appearance a slightly clear darkish brown with a thin white head. Aroma of bready malt, spices, hops, smells nice. Taste is definitely malty but the hops come out more in the flavor, medium body and carbonation, pretty solid red ale.

Purchased at Armanetti’s in Chicago, IL; enjoyed while watching Monday Night Football, week 7, if Baltimore wins I win my pool! Appearance a slightly cloudy gold with a rich, frothy white head that laces to the glass. Aroma of honey, Belgian yeast, spices, slightly fruity. Taste is not good. It’s like drinking flower mash. Too floral for me, the yeast strain just seems out of control, and it’s much much sweeter than I thought it would be. Also leaves a tart taste in my mouth. Nice try, but not good.
