Virtually black with a creamy, light brown head that lingers. There’s rum in the aroma, oak too, but also something acidic. Strangely enough, the first thought that flashed into my mind was bug poison. That impression, mercifully, faded to a mix of vanilla, oak and barrel. Lovely taste, a nice mix of dark chocolate bitterness and (mild) confectionery sweetness. There’s a subtle fruity tartness that plays out at the end. It may be an impy, but points too for not being a heavy, sloppy, additive-ladened bomb. The body only reaches medium, carbonation is mild, and there’s a velvety smoothness going down. Stumbles at the start, but still nice.

Hier wird aus dem Witbier eine wunderschöne Witwe gemacht. Dies geschieht durch Zugae von Mirabellen in den Sud. Allerdings sieht es wie ein klassisches Witbier aus, aber geschmacklich kommt die MIrabelle gut durch. Es ust sehr mild und die hefigen, fast schon mehligen Aromen harmonieren gut mit den fruchtigen Noten, z.B. Orange, Erdbeere und Marille -und natürlich Mirabelle. Nett gemachtes Bierchen

EIn neues Bier aus der Kooperation Grohe und Two In A Rocket. Diesmal kommt ein Kellerpils. Das Urige, des Kellerbiers hat man recht gut eingebaut, ohne dass es muffig wirkt. Als Pils tut es sich ein bisschen schwer, so dass es ruhig etwas bitterer sein könnte. Mn kann es gerne probieren, aber allzu speziell finde ich es nicht.

330ml bottle. Cloudy, chesnut colour with ruby shimmer and minimally late awakening, small, thick, creamy, moderately lasting, minimally lacing, beige head. BA overlain, caramel malty aroma, notes of oak and vanilla, some tannic aspects, some nutty aspects. Taste is slightly dry, caramel and dark malty, minimally tart-ish, tannic, oaky, hints of caramel, a touch of toffee, vanilla, raisin, sultana, vinegar and morello. Creamy texture, smooth, soft and silky, minimally astringent, minimally cloying palate, fine and soft carbonation. Passably balanced and diversified, relatively thin and light - not bad.

330ml bottle. Darkest brown colour with average, frothy to creamy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, beige to tan head. Sweet-ish, chocolately, dark and caramel malty aroma, notes of coca, chocolate sauce, dark caramel, a touch of malt lozenge. Taste is roasty and chocolately, dark and caramel malty, notes of dark caramel, a touch of burnt caramel, some dark chocolate, a touch of malt lozenge, some roasty and hoppy bitterness; minimally alcoholic finish. Slightly creamy, watery texture, smooth, soft and silky, minimally cloying palate, fine and soft, creamy carbonation. Well balanced, relatively light though slightly alcoholic - decent.
