Hand-pulled pint in The Eagle, Boston, Lincolnshire on 29 Mar 2013. Reddy-mid brown body, clean and clear looking with a light biege head of bubbles. Slightly more malts than hop notes in the aroma and taste: mildly toffee with a mini bitter finish. Nothing to test your taste buds but an OK beer non-the-less. Body depth was fine and I’d have had another if the bus wasn’t due to leave!

Copper ale with a decent head. It has light malts for its character and smooth.

Cask handpump at Canalhouse, Nottingham. This months ’Wildlife Beer’ from Castle Rock and very nice it is. Black, with a creamy head and good aroma of roasted chocolate. Full bodied with mild carbonation. It was a quick stop between trains, wish I’d had time for more.

Gravity-fed cask at Barista, Chelmsford. Quite a basic mild, almost black with a tan head. Mild chocolate aroma. Not bad, inoffensive. but afraid there are much better milds about, maybe its aim at the ’younger palate’ making it rather more bland...

Bottle at home in London with Chris. Pours clear gold with a small. Frothy white head. Some sweet malts and ripe grapefruit in the nose. Medium sweet flavor, moderate bitterness, some ripe citrus, melon, grapefruit. Medium bodied with fine, creamy carbonation. Lightly sweet finish, mild tangy citrus fruits, some minerals, grapefruit, lemon, orange, stone fruits. Very easy drinking.

On cask at Wyke Lion, Bradford - Amber body, thick white head. Good malt base and not too sweet. Quite tasty for a low ABV - a good session beer.

Gravity dispense at the 23rd Battersea Beer Festival - 06/02/13. Lightly hazed pale golden. Nose carries pale malts, honey, grass, hops. Taste follows. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation, some bitterness in the finish. Ok drinkable stuff.
