Description
Pretty Things Beer & Ale Project began on a shoestring budget in 2008. We exist to allow 20 year professional brewer Dann Paquette to make an honest living while giving his imagination free reign. We brew our beers in other people's breweries because we can't afford our own. We enjoy the up-at-dawn lifestyle and the freedom to brew beers of our own imagining. We brew all our beers ourselves: Dann brews and formulates, Martha mills in. We dream up our beers together, inspired by Europe, by history, and by BEER and all it can be. We are based in Somerville, but brew mostly in Westport, MA, hence the early mornings. Cheers!

Bottle shared in London at chriso’s to honour the handsome and generous Gene. Pours clear ruby with a creamy, off-white head. Toasty crackery malts in the nose, graham crackers, orange rind, pine needles. Medium sweet flavor with more toasty, bready mats, crackers, oily pine, orange. Medium to full bodied with fine to average carbonation. Lightly warming on the finish, more oily pine, toasty bread, rindy orange. A little bit heavy handed, but OK.

Bottle shared at Chris and Ruth’s pre-GBBF tasting 2015 - London. Sourced from the US. Pours rich black with a creamy, tan head. Big dry cocoa aroma, with lots of roasted malts and burnt marshmallows. Medium sweet flavor with some burnt toffee, more chocolate, moderate earthy bitterness, some boosty alcohol. Full bodied, lightly chewy, with fine carbonation. Warming finish, dominated by bittersweet chocolate. Very nice.
