Bottle split at LKS 15K splash down, thanks to the Man of the moment, 02/11/15. Clear golden with a moderate off white covering. Nose is citric peel, straw, pale malt, waft of coffee grinds. Taste comprises pale malt, straw, melon, grain, bread dough, lemon rind. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Ok.

Craft Clerkenwell. LKS 15K bash. Thanks to Mr 15K. Hazy gold beer, small pale cream colour head. Palate is light, crispy and semi dry. Thin pale malts, not that sweet and with a trace of grain. Mild floralness. Finishes dry and mildly hop spicy with a bitter orange linger. All right.

Bottle shared at the 10k 15k tasting at craft beer co. Thanks to Leighton. Aroma is rustic grains. Light smoke, grassy hop. Flavour is composed of light grains, grainy. Husks. Grassy hop. Palate is medium light, highish carbonation, pale golden coloured pour, light white head. OK.

Bottle thanks to Leighton at his 15K tasting. It pours lightly hazy gold with a medium white head. The nose is soft, sweet, juicy, sweet pineapple, nectarine, wheetabix, rivita and bready malt. The taste is crisp, rather bitter, straw, pithy, zesty lemon, toasted grass, minerals and some soap with a dry finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. A touch soapy perhaps. Not bad.

Bottle shared at CBC Clerkenwell during the 15k tasting. Pours lightly hazy gold with s frothy white head. The nose has crispy grains, flaked wheat, faint corn, lemon rind. Light-medium sweet flavor with pale biscuits, crunchy hay, pale grains, rind. Light bodied with average carbonation. Somewhat dry on the finish with more biscuits, crackers, light grass, pithy lemon. So so.

22 oz. bottle at Julio’s Liquor Brewfest. Pitch black in the sample glass, lasting full head. Aroma is dark chocolate, bitter coffee grounds, and yes, I get smoked malt.
The flavor is mostly a exactly as the aroma leads me to believe. The smoked malt element is subtle but I really am not a fan of smoked malt at all. It’s not over-bearing but I could not drink more then 5 or 6 oz of this. The body is full with a smooth creamy mouthfeel. For somebody who enjoy smoky stouts this would be something interesting to try.

22 oz. bottle at Julio’s Liquor Brewfest. Aroma has a yeast noticeable with a earthy malt presence. From the aroma a lone it seems like the grain in English in variety.
The flavor have a floral note upfront with a earthy herbal grain base. Yeast character is modest with subdued hops and grain. Finish has a zesty / herbal essence like the way it starts. Medium in body with a chewy yeast mouthfeel.Interesting take with this style, pretty drinkable.

22 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled in 8/2015. Pours lightly hazy golden yellow color with a 2 finger dense white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big lemon, grapefruit, orange peel, pear, apple, white grape, clove, pepper, pine, light banana/bubblegum, wheat, cracker, light honey, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great complexity and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, citrus/floral hops, and light-moderate pale malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big lemon, grapefruit, orange peel, pear, apple, white grape, clove, pepper, pine, light banana/bubblegum, wheat, cracker, light honey, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. Good amount of yeast spiciness and pine/citrus rind bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of lemon, grapefruit, orange peel, pear, apple, clove, pepper, pine, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, citrus/floral hops, and light-moderate pale malt flavors; with a great malt/bitter/spiciness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Good amount of dryness from bitterness/yeast spice as well. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, crisp, and moderately sticky/resinous mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is an awesome hoppy saison style. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, citrus/floral hops, and moderate pale malt flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A highly enjoyable offering.

The Travlr tasting at ChrisO’s. Thanks to Gene for all the beers and Chris for hosting. Thanks to Leighton for another Pretty DIPA. Hazy amber beer, small pale cream colour head. Palate is light , semi dry and has modest fine carbonation. Malts bring a light tangy caramel. Good citric peel bitterness with mild pine. Bitterness ramps up in to a light finish. Quite a tangy bitter DIPA.
