Description
Pretty Things Beer & Ale Project began on a shoestring budget in 2008. We exist to allow 20 year professional brewer Dann Paquette to make an honest living while giving his imagination free reign. We brew our beers in other people's breweries because we can't afford our own. We enjoy the up-at-dawn lifestyle and the freedom to brew beers of our own imagining. We brew all our beers ourselves: Dann brews and formulates, Martha mills in. We dream up our beers together, inspired by Europe, by history, and by BEER and all it can be. We are based in Somerville, but brew mostly in Westport, MA, hence the early mornings. Cheers!

Very hazy golden coloured body with a straw glow and a nice and relatively dense one centimetre tall just tan colour. Aroma of grass, coriander seed, lemons, straw, hay and a ton of yeast - very strong in that department, but nice. Full-bodied; Very rich flavour of coriander seed, yeast, wheat, grass, hay and a lot of honey sweetness tucked in with even more curacao. Aftertaste shows a very pleasant blend of honey, grass, yeast and oranges with a light grain and corn finish. Overall, a very nice tripel with not so much hops noticed, but more of the tripel stylings, all with a very rich mouthful and a sweet finish - nice, but pretty much just a standard tripel - don’t pay attention to ’hoppy’ on the name. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from New Beer Distributors in New York, New York on 19-July-2014 for US$8,00 sampled at home in Washington on 14-September-2014.

Draft served in a standard shaker. Amber color with solid white head. Aroma is what a ESB should be, English malts with traces of toffee and light citrus or fruit.
I normally don’t go after this style but I enjoy this brewery so... Why not? Spot on for the style with a slightly hopper flavor profile. Earthy English toffee that leads into some grassy hops in the finish. The balance is real nice malt to hop ratio. Very easy to drink on a scorching hot September afternoon in Boston. Well made for the style!

Draft into a tulip glass. Mostly clear gold with lasting head retention..the aroma gets me excited! Strong grapefruit, lemon and sweet bready malt with mild herbal hints. The flavor is an exactly a mirror image of the aroma and it is damn tasty. Bitterness is mild yet lingering and very much bright grapefruit. The body is perfect for more of a " let’s drink a shit ton of this!" Kind of aspect. Very nicely crafted.

Bottle, thanks to theEpeeist! Pours cloudy amber, small off-white head, dissipates quickly, good lacing. Aroma is malty, caramel, toffee, dark breads, pine. Flavor is medium sweet and medium bitter, malty and hoppy, tastes a bit oxidized. Medium body, creamy mouthfeel. Lingering strong bitter finish.

This beer is a pale yellow-gold color with a medium fluffy (ha!) white head that diminishes gradually to a film. Small patches of lacing on the glass. Aroma of citrus, yeast and mild citrus. Medium-bodied with flavors of grapefruit, earthy yeast and grassy hops. The finish is fruity up front with a peppery yeast aftertaste. Decent overall.
