(bottle, 65cl, 1st batch, bottled Aug. 2010) Hazy, amber colour with a huge and slightly tanned foamy head. Yeasty, caramel-malty and slightly nutty aroma with woody and subtle fruity hops. Moderately bitter flavour with a rounded malty sweetness, light to medium bodied with a soft carbonation. Quite dry cara-malty base with a rising hop-character towards the dry-ish bitter hoppy and mildly sweet finish. Pleasant US-brew with English qualities. 12.X.11

Location: 22 oz bottle from Grand Cru in Rhinebeck, 10/21/11
Aroma:The nose has some floral hops, grassy notes, caramel, and a little bit of citrus
Appearance: It pours a cloudy dark orange color with a big white head and fairly heavy lacing
Flavor: The taste is lightly sweet, some caramel malts, medium-plus bitter, floral and grassy hops
Palate: The body is medium, this one has a smooth drinkability, and rather dry finish to it
Overall Impression: I liked this beer. A good example of the style. It works pretty well. Another good offering from Pretty Things. No surprise.

22 oz bottle, Purchased @ Blanchard’s Liquor’s, Allston, MA. Used a pint, deep brown. Murkey with off-white, thick full, foamy head. Awesome retention. Pleasant chocolate malt and earthy hops nose. Flavor is real nice. Chocolate roasted malt, slight coffee and a healthy hop kick in the finish. Finish is long and bitter when at room temperature. Medium to nearly a fuller composition. This brew deserves more notoriety. Excellent example of a traditional porter.

Bottled, thanks rlgk! Cloudy brownish amber, no head. Fatty pear aroma. Sweet and soft with full body. Caramel, sugar and mirabelles. Some alcohol wamth in a finish with low bitterness.

Bottle: Amber coloured, a bit hazy, big fluffy to creamy off-white head, solid resiny and floral-hoppy nose, some "english" aromas (dark malt and fruits) underneath; dry bitter flavour, light to medium bodied; dry lingering resiny and also fruity-caramelly finish. Drier and more bitter than a common ESB, but nevertheless a fine Ale......

Weak tinny fig aroma. Clear bronze, thin head. Alcohol barely noticeable. Thin to medium body. Light candied fig flavor with a leafy finish. A very understated quad. I’ve had dubbels with more oompf. This is way overrated.

tap at Lord Hobo in Cambridge - This brew smells of yeast, citrus, a bit of hops, and some barnyard funk. There’s good moderate hops bitterness in the flavor with sweet pale malt and lingering bitterness in the lightly dry finish. Very good.
