Bottle. Pours rather light brown for a porter with a greyish head. Aroma of hops and coffee. Rather bitter taste of coffe grounds, rosted malt and hops.

Bottle. Pours gold with white head. Nose/taste of malt, grain, bread and a dry citrus finish. Medium body. Crisp and more hoppy than expected.

A deep dark brown ale with a thin lacing mocha head. In aroma, sweet caramel malt with dark fruits, licorice, very nice. In mouth , a nice sweet fruity caramel malt with dark fruits, licorice, light grassy hops, nice and smooth. Bottle, April 2009.

A hazed amber ale with a thick frothy lacing creamy light mocha head. In aroma, sweet fruity caramel malt with dark fruits, licorice, light oxidized character, OK. In mouth, sweet fruity caramel malt with dark fruits, light vanilla and light honey, pleasant for a 10 year old beer. Bottled Nov 2009.

Bomber from Half Time. Pours light copper with a creamy off-white head. Aroma is a mix of floral, peach, herb and vege. Med + body. Flavor is rather earthy. And bitter. The malt is hardly noticeable. The flavors are complicated. Burns the tongue a little. But the floral keeps coming back. Exceptionally tasty ale.

The beer is dark, murky and brown. It has a creamy, beige head that sticks around for quite awhile. The aroma has sweet cocoa upfront with some cola and mineral/pine hops. It has some bready, toffee-ish malt tones backing up the darker and hoppier notes. The taste is much more full and rich than the aroma. There’s a big sweet coffee/chocolate note backed up by caramel maltiness. The finish is fairly bitter with a nice hop bite. It’s a smooth, full flavor, and the beer drinks bigger than the abv. Mouthfeel is smooth, creamy and a bit bracing in the finish. Very good and interesting beer. I would actually prefer it to be a bit less hoppy, though the hops were actually weaker than expected.

22 oz bottle purchased at the Whole Foods Chelsea, New York City. Bottled Mar 2011 Batch 10. Pour is a deep brown, cloudy, with a firm two inch khaki head. Heads falls slow with thick sheets of lace. Pretty beer. The aroma is sweetly nutty, along with a hint of mineral roastiness. As it warms, an interesting yeast nutmeg character comes out. The taste follows the nose, with mildly vanilla sweet and nutty malt, drying out to a mineral, light char finish. The yeast is there too, most prominently in the longish finish. Palate is light to medium bodied, pleasant unfiltered mouth feel, and the dry finish. The yeast nutmeg does linger a bit long for my tastes, detracting a touch from the malt and mineral I enjoyed. Regardless, nice beer - well crafted.

Pours fairly pale with some underlying deep gold. White head leaves quickly, with a somewhat full collar remaining and dusting across the top. Great well rounded spice dominates the nose. Beautiful aroma with some slight bready sweetness. Spice and orange peel on the palate. Complex yeast flavor of biscuit. Chewy from the great yeast, covering all corners of the mouth.

Bottle, 22oz. It pours a hazy, orangey golden body and a small, dense, white head. Fruityness, white sugar, some hops and a touch of lemon on the nose. Medium to full body, dry, even though it’s quite sweet. Nice fruityness and a pleasant bitterness, some green pine cones. Bitter finish. A tripel I could drink a few of, it’s tasteful and pleasant. 110820
