Gravity dispense at the Happy Man May 2014 BF, 22/05/14. Black with a big old tan head that retains well. Nose is big roast malts, liqourice stick, treacle toffee, earthy cocoa, tar. Taste comprises treacle toffee, moderate roast, sweet licks, tar, another big liqourice injection. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, light dryness in the close. Solid stout.

500ml bottle kindly shared by Stefan at a rating session. The body is black as pitch. Tan-coloured head, diminishing to a remaining layer. Loose lacing. Roasted dark malts to the nose with moderate hints of liquorice. Slightly roasted taste with a touch of dried fruits and earth, mid-sweet. Roasted ending as well. Smooth and nice in the mouth, a little thin bodied though (Tårnrommet, Tromsø 15.05.2014).

From cask at Mosset Tavern, Forres. Golden, white head. Fine and persistent lacing. Subdued aroma of orange marmelade. Refreshing taste of marmelade, balanced with moderate bitterness. OK, but not very exciting.

Bottle from Tesco. It pours pale gold with a small white head. The nose is fresh, tropical fruits, light grain, five alive fruit juice and citrus peel. The taste is crisp, bitter, straw, grapefruit rind, lemon and peppery notes with a lingering bitter finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Crisp, fresh, good level of bitterness and rather drinkable. One of the best Cairngorm offerings.

Cask handpull at The Flower Pot Maidstone. Clear dark gold lasting head. Not really on but got what was left in the cask. No condition in the mouth. Some biscuit. Diacetyl aroma. Not good.
