Many lagers tried on this West Indies trip, pleased to find a stout to try also. I got this dark bottle at a nice shop in Antigua. What’s the deal on these 275 ml bottles, not even the 330 ml they have in Europe much less the 12 oz servings from the states. I have to rough it with no proper glass to drink from. The smell is a light chocolate. A full drink now, again the light chocolate, bread and an entertaining sweetness at the finish. Flavorful but I prefer the depth of an imperial stout. Not exactly my thing but decent.

Canned 500ml. -from Geant Albertville. Pale golden coloured, medium sized airy white head, whiff of lime in the nose. Sweetish and pretty artificial mojito taste with notes of mint toothpaste and strong carbonation. Usual crap.

Fles gekregen van Roelzie1986. Het is een goudgeel bier met een wit schuim wat snel weg ebt. De geur is mintachig. De smaak is bier, zoet, mintig. Best lekker eigenlijk.

Lunchtime pints at Simpsons on Cornhill. It's always a bizarre place with overly familiar service, tables and benches made of old Lloyd's of London booths and quite high prices. And the beer is served way too cold for my liking. Anyway, I had two pints of draft Bass to wash down a mixed grill. This is a rare beer to find on draft and the first pint was nice, but the second had an odd flavour to it. Not enough to send it back, but quite metallic. This wasn't the best beer I have had and I much prefer the Bass from cans in the supermarket. The very large glass of port that we had with the stewed cheese at the end of lunch was however excellent. I love the City!
