Cask (Newcastle Beer Festival 2014) - Golden with a white head. Lemon, tea and a hint of grapefruit in the aroma. Crisp and fairly hoppy taste with lemon and biscuity malt standing out. Quite refreshing.

Bottle at Craig’s. Pours dark black, thin tan head. Aromas start strangely menthol, but resolve into peated whisky. Taste has more peat, not much of the stout character left. Full-bodied, oily mouthfeel, boozy finish.

Leighton 10K tasting at Bruce’s pad. Thanks to Paul for another rare Scottish tick. Opaque dark black - brown beer, small pale tan head. Palate is smooth and slightly viscous. Very fine carbonation. Big tangy peat, initially too much but it evens out a bit and reveals some dark fruits. Light smooth finish. Gradually wins you over.

Taste comprises bitter roast, peated malt, roasty tones, TCP, spice, cocoa powder, smokey notes. Medium + body, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Decent peated affair, pretty intense but well balanced
