Sampled cask conditioned. Amber coloured. Fuggle hop aroma. Malty and fruity. Big, delicate maltiness, medium to low bitterness. I just love the beatiful malt profile. This is a well balanced, remarkable bitter.

Not sure if I like it much, but I'm glad I tried it - its very unique and resembles no other beer I've tried - which I find refreshing. Dark brownish amber color with a slight head and lacing (low carb overall: bottle-conditioned). Earthy vegetal aroma with a slight hint of smoke, chocolate, and maybe even manure! Dark fruity flavor and generally sweet with a modicum of bitterness. Very slightest presence of citric cascades in the nose. Not as hoppy as the label's description suggests - except for the lingering unusual bitterness at the back of the tongue. Finishes heavy, sweet and almost cloying on the tongue.

Ahh, a true taste of English real ale in a bottle. One of the best beers I've ever had, and def one of the best bitters I've had. Its rare to find that great English ESB flavor in a bottle. This bottle-conditioned ESB is top notch. Great malt flavors, firm bitter backbone, English hop flavors just detectable. A near perfect brew.
